Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar appears to be coming to St. Johns Town Center. The chairman of Tommy Bahama owner Oxford Industries Inc. said in a March 28 conference call with stock analysts that the Marlin Bar walk-up concept featuring a large patio offering a full bar and food will open in Jacksonville. “We expect to open three of these exciting Marlin Bar locations in Florida later in 2019, two of which are Chubb III relocations of existing stores in Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale,” said Chairman Thomas Chubb III, who also is president and CEO. Atlanta-based Oxford Industries owns Tommy Bahama, Lilly Pulitzer and Southern Tide. Tommy Bahama operates 15 locations with full-service restaurants adjacent to retail stores. Chubb said two locations feature

Burlington Stores Inc. will lease about half of the closed Gander Mountain store in River City Marketplace, permits show. The city issued a permit Friday for Able Construction Inc. to build-out almost 40,000 square feet of space at a cost of $2.47 million for the off-price retailer. Burlington operates three Jacksonville stores in Mandarin, near Argyle in Southwest Jacksonville and in the Regency area. Gander Mountain occupied 81,537 square feet of space, along with 19,099 square feet of outdoor sales space, at 13075 City Square Drive. The building was constructed in 2007 on almost 7.6 acres. The Gander Mountain chain closed many of its stores in 2017 after it was purchased by Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis. Sidebar opens at the Dalton Agency Sidebar, a private event space for meetings and gatherings, is open at the Dalton Agency’s headquarters Downtown at 140 W. Monroe St. near Hemming Park. The 2,000-square-foot venue features an interactive video wall, bar area, coffee counter and a full catering kitchen. The space can accommodate 50 people. According to the sidebarjax.com, rates are $350 per hour with a three-hour minimum. “We wanted to create a unique space for our staff, clients, and others to enjoy in a modern, urban setting,” said Jim Dalton, CEO of the Dalton Agency, in a news release.
