Curahealth buys Specialty Hospital

Curahealth Hospitals bought Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville in Southside at 4901 Richard St. from Memorial Healthcare Group Inc., which is part of HCA Healthcare Inc.

Texas company paid Memorial Healthcare Group $7.59 million for property.

Curahealth Hospitals of Garland, Texas, announced it bought Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville from HCA Healthcare Inc. Specialty Hospital at 4901 Richard St. is a licensed and accredited longterm acute care hospital focused on treating patients who undergo extended hospital stays and have complex medical conditions. Curahealth Property LLC bought the property for $7.59 million from Memorial Healthcare Group Inc. Memorial

is part of HCA and both are based in Nashville, Tennessee. The deed was recorded April 5. Wells Fargo Bank issued a mortgage of the same amount. The 97,038-square-foot hospital was built in 1971, property records show. Curahealth said the sale took place April 1. Curahealth operates 10 hospitals in six states as its nationwide network of transitional care hospitals that are certified as long-term acute care hospitals

Delaney to join Rogers Towers and Fiorentino Group

Catty Shack Wildlife Sanctuary passes hurdle for expansion

The Jacksonville Planning Commission approved the first step toward expansion of the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary at 1860 Starratt Road. Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit serving Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties. Its mission is to provide a safe home to endangered big cats and similar exotic animals while educating the public about their plight in their natural habitat and

University of North Florida President John Delaney will join a strategic alliance formed by the Rogers Towers law firm and The Fiorentino Group government relations provider. Delaney will join the alliance June 1. He retires May 31 from UNF after 15 years as president. Before joining UNF, he served as Jacksonville mayor for two terms from 1995-2003.
