CineBistro, which developer Jeff Fuqua said he is bringing to Jacksonville, is a full menu and bar movie theater. It calls itself a “world-class ‘dinner-and-a-movie’ concept.” Fuqua, principal of Atlanta-based Fuqua Development, said last week CineBistro will join his proposed Exchange at Jacksonville project at southeast Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295. Fuqua intends to buy 67 acres from the Skinner family for the $300 million apartment, office, hotel and entertainment Exchange early next year and complete most of the construction within about two years. At CineBistro, patrons can watch the latest blockbuster or art film seated on “ultra-luxurious, roomy high-back leather rocking chairs or recliners” while sipping on a $54 bottle of wine. Bottles at the Tampa CineBistro start at $25.

VyStar plans branch near Lakewood

Credit union wants to demolish two buildings on University Boulevard. VyStar Credit Union wants to demolish two single-story buildings and a former gas station at 2890 University Blvd W. for construction of a branch office. Dana B. Kenyon Co. is the contractor for the demolition at a cost of $96,977. In January, VyStar bought the 2-acre site, near St. Augustine Road, for $1.7 million from an affiliate of Ash Properties. A VyStar spokeswoman said previously the site is designed to accommodate a 4,000-squarefoot branch with three drivethru lanes. Construction could start by year-end and be completed in 2020, Judy Walz, chief marketing and planning officer, said Tuesday. Jacksonville-based VyStar is active in the real estate market. It bought two Downtown buildings – the 23-story SunTrust Tower, to be renamed VyStar Tower, at 76 S. Laura St. and the six-story Life of the South Building next door at 100 W. Bay St. The two will comprise VyStar’s Downtown headquarters campus.

The CineBistro Town Brookhaven in Atlanta. According to its website, CineBistro operates 14 locations in nine states, including five in Florida in Doral, Miami, Wesley Chapel, Tampa and Siesta Key.

Summit building Fusion project in Baymeadows Construction continues on Fusion Rental Community, a 384-unit multifamily project by Fort Family Investments in the Southside. Summit Contracting Group Inc. is building the community at 8283 Baymeadows Road E. and Homeplace Drive across from the Fort Family Regional Park at Baymeadows. The 8.63-acre Fusion property is the former home of the Plant Life Farms wholesale nursery, which moved to 7543 Salisbury Road. Summit said in a news release it gained a $55 million contract to build Fusion. Work began in December with construction of a parking garage.
