Skinner Bros. Realty announced that Firehouse Subs, Añejo Cocina Mexicana and The Decantery will lease space in Wildlight’s Village Center in Nassau County. They will join other tenants including Royal Amelia Dance Academy, Great Clips, Cold Stone Creamery and Tasty’s Fresh Burgers and Fries, according to a March 3 news release. The 11,670-square-foot retail center at 40 Homegrown Way was completed in September in the master-planned community. The first multitenant building at Village Center opened in early 2019. The Decantery operates a location in Fernandina Beach and will open a sec-

ond in the former AT&T building at 20 Homegrown Way. The cocktail, wine and beer lounge will open in two phases. The first will be a package store that will open in April. The second will be a lounge that is estimated to open in September. Añejo Cocina Mexicana has a restaurant in Ponte Vedra Beach and is planning another in the Brooklyn area of Downtown Jacksonville. The Mexican restaurant’s third location, in Village Center, will open in May in 3,700 square feet with an open-air bar and covered patio, the release said. Firehouse Subs will open this month in a 2,100-square-foot space. “We are very pleased to continue working with Skinner Bros. ARCO Design/Build LLC of Atlanta is the developer. Jacksonville-based England-Thims & Miller Inc. is the civil engineer. England-Thims & Miller filed civil engineering plans with the city Feb. 26. The firm also applied to the city for an administrative deviation to reduce the minimum number of parking spaces from 86 to 29 on behalf of the owner, Flexspace Ventures LLC. That plan shows a 149,635-squarefoot warehouse and a future building of 23,000 square feet. “Cold storage warehousing has become more automated and has less parking demand as a result,” said the application for the parking deviation. Flexspace Ventures registered FlexCold LLC with the state Feb. 24. new cold storage space is in high demand,” it says. It reports that 78.2% of cold-storage buildings in the U.S. were built before 2020. It says second-generation cold-storage buildings have inefficient structures and older systems that lack the functionality needed for newer demand. Also, the existing supply and infrastructure cannot handle the increased pressures and overall demand of an evolving supply chain, it says.
