Fast-track reading sought for warehouse
Preferred Freezer Services is seeking to develop a $46.7 million facility in Northwest Jacksonville.
The 220,000-square-foot structure is scheduled for completion in 2021. “In May, you should start seeing activity at the site,” said Keith Tickell, vice president of strategic assets/real estate for Baptist Health. “This new building will be our new ‘front door,’ essentially reorienting our entire campus,” said Michael Mayo, Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville Hospital president, in a news release. “We
Preferred Freezer Services of Jacksonville II LLC requests a fast-track reading in City Council for Resolution 2019-86, which would provide up to $1.2 million in grants. The resolution is scheduled to be introduced today. Preferred Freezer Services, a national refrigerated storage warehouse company, proposes to develop a $46.7 million cold storage warehouse in Northwest Jacksonville and create at least 40 jobs. The investment comprises the costs of real estate improvements, IT, infrastructure, computer equipment, furniture and fixtures. The site is along Doolittle Road at North Ellis Road. The incentives comprise a $100,000 Northwest Jacksonville Business Infrastructure Grant, which would help to fund a water line to the site, and a

Baptist Health announced Monday it will begin construction this spring on a $187 million, seven-story Wolfson Children’s Critical Care Tower. The tower will become the front entrance to Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville at 800 Prudential Drive on the Downtown Southbank.
Cleaning out the warehouse Sight & Sound Productions and Mugwump Productions cleared out surplus items from their warehouse with a sale Friday and Saturday. Offerings included props, such as giant Jaguars statues, lighting, furniture, decor and audiovisual equipment. Sight & Sound produces corporate meetings, concerts, festivals, conferences, award galas and other live events. Mugwump focuses on event décor and design.
