Winn-Dixie parent postpones IPO plans

Rise: A Real Estate Company President Greg Blais says the company’s construction of The Julington apartment community is just the first of many developments it envisions in Northeast Florida. “We are here to take advantage of the growth that Jackson-

ville has enjoyed and is projected to continue to enjoy,” Blais said at the project’s Jan. 26 groundbreaking ceremony. “You’re going to see a lot of banners that say Rise on them in the coming years because we are really focused on the Jacksonville area.” Construction on the 260-unit project at 12397 San Jose Blvd. is expected to take 18 months, with apartments delivered in phases up to that point. Southeastern Grocers Inc. announced Jan. 28 it is postponing its planned initial public offering, a day before the deal was expected to be priced. The Jacksonville-based supermarket operator did not give a reason for the postponement. “The company will continue to evaluate the timing for the proposed offering as market conditions develop,” Southeastern Grocers said in a news release. Be fo re t h e co m pa ny ’s announcement, Reuters news service reported Southeastern Grocers was pulling the IPO because investors were not willing to meet its targeted price range, citing an unnamed source. Southeastern Grocers said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission it wanted to sell 8.9 million shares at $14 to $16. SEE IPO, PAGE 2

The Church of Eleven22 parking garage in review The city is reviewing a permit application for The Church of Eleven22 to build a three-story parking garage at its main campus at 14286 Beach Blvd. at a cost of $8 million. Bradley Bowen Construction of Jacksonville is the contractor. RBF Design Associates Inc. is the architect. Plans show the 128,918-square-foot, open-air garage with up to 400 parking spaces. The garage is proposed south of the church building.
