WELCOME. first heard about the "Faces of" concept in 2016 from a publisher out of Omaha, Nebraska. They had created a magazine that helps promote local businesses by featuring a "Face" of a specific business type (ex: "Face Of Architecture").

This publisher found that the publication was able to connect community members with local Omaha businesses.

I love and will always champion the idea of promoting community—that's why we decided to bring this concept to the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community in 2021.

After finding that it was a massive success in our area, we expanded the concept to the Sioux Falls and BismarckMandan communities, which also brought overwhelmingly positive reactions.

With such positive reactions coming from last year's magazine, we wanted to turn around and do it again! In the 2022 edition of Faces of Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo, you'll find new businesses and faces to support within the community. We hope you enjoy this publication and take the opportunity to get to know some of the people behind this thriving business community.

In 11 years, we have been able to create over 400 magazines— all of which are solely based on telling positive community stories! This is another piece to that puzzle and I truly believe you will enjoy reading about your friends and neighbors in the ensuing pages.

A

fter working at U Motors for several years, Cale Arneson purchased the family business in 2011.

Throughout the years, Arneson and his wife Jill have expanded their powersports and marine product lines, built a second dealership on Pelican Lake and purchased a third in Detroit Lakes. Between the three U Motors locations, they now offer Honda, Yamaha, Can-Am, Ski-Doo, SSR and Kawasaki for on and offroad powersports. Their marine product lines include Sea-Doo, Yamaha Waverunners, Nautique, Supra, Supreme, Avalon Pontoons and recently acquired Centurion Boats.

None of this would have been possible without the help of Nate Harms. He started working at U Motors at the age of 14, washing motorcycles and sweeping the shop. Over the years, he worked his way into the sales department and is now the General Manager of all three U Motors locations.

U Motors is dedicated to supporting the communities of all three of its locations. Every year they bring interns in from the surrounding

sabel Johnson grew up in Fargo, where she played soccer at Davies High School before graduating from NDSU.

“During college, I wanted to run the Fargo Half Marathon just one time to say I did it. While training, I experienced that “runner’s high,” and ultimately ended up falling in love with running,” Isabel said.

Since completing a full marathon, her new goal is to run a half marathon in all 50 states: 9 down, 41 to go!

oseph Brunner, Co-owner and Executive Chef of Mezzaluna, started in the restaurant industry back in high school where he worked at a local Mexican restaurant as a busboy and dishwasher. Josef’s focus on legacy is what sets them apart from other schools in North Dakota. When Joseph Olivieri went to beauty school in 1946, he was one of three male students

at Fargo’s New York Hair Design Academy. In 1960, he started his own school with three students. Within a year, he had 100 students. In 1994, he turned the reins of the school over to his son, Mario, an award-winning hairdresser in his own right.

Today, Josef’s is a fully accredited and Pulp Riot school, and the longeststanding massage school in the state. Many students enjoy their time at Josef’s because of the hands-on education, public service options and community involvement.

Each year, Josef’s supports the Salvation Army by providing over

200 haircuts for veterans and hosting Confidence in Beauty courses for local teenagers.
