Matthew Schneider has been a SCHEELS Expert for over three years, helping customers find the best fishing gear for all their adventures. Schneider first became passionate about fishing as a kid when he and his dad would go down to the kid's pond in Jamestown. He'd catch trout, walleye, perch, and others, and it fueled his passion for fishing. Schneider loves meeting new people and realizes each customer is unique and has different needs for their fishing endeavors; he helps customers find the right product by listening to the customer's needs and matching those needs to the right product.

"Being able to walk in and talk to experts about every little thing in the store is unbelievable in my mind," says Schneider, who believes the customer experience is what sets SCHEELS in a class of its own. It's not just new customers Schneider enjoys meeting, but returning customers as well. "I love being able to shout someone's name across the shop and go talk to them about fishing and how their stuff worked out for them," says Schneider. "When you can build that relationship with your customers, it changes everything." As for products Schneider is excited about, the Northland Rippin Minnow tops his list. It's a jigging rap presentation that has soft-bodied plastic on the hook. "Moves quick in the water, makes those fish have a split second to react!"

This Spring, Justin Gehrke will be reaching a milestone, having been a SCHEELS Expert for 25 years. Gehrke first became passionate about golf at age 12 when he was given the opportunity to play with his dad. Despite being left-handed, they found him a lefthanded starter set and he was hooked after hitting a forty-seven that same day. Gehrke loves meeting new people and helping find them the perfect gear. "Creating that experience and relationship with the customer is awesome because we love it when they come back and tell us about how it went," says Gehrke, who is an avid golfer himself.

Whether they are pro-golfers or just getting started, Gehrke wants to help them improve their game and feel confident with their products after leaving the store.

To Gehrke, it's the passion of the people and the staff that makes SCHEELS a unique retailer. "We are all passionate about the departments we work in and have fun playing the sports we sell in," says Gehrke. "If we are passionate and the customers coming into the store are passionate about the sports it makes it so much fun to visit about the sport." One of the fun aspects of being a SCHEELS Expert is testing out the products and gear. Gehrke loves the proline clubs all the brands have to offer, and his personal proline club of choice is the Sim2 Driver from TaylorMade.

Amanda Levin joined the SCHEELS Team of Experts in 2019 and is an expert in the Women's Athletic Department, helping customers find their stride and to feel confident. Since childhood, Amanda has been passionate about fashion and fitness. She studied retail merchandising for six years at NDSU to expand her knowledge of the sporting goods industry and later found her home at SCHEELS. "SCHEELS has allowed me to combine my two passions of fashion and sports and create a career out of it," says Levin. Confidence is key, and it's what Levin is dedicated to in helping her customers find the perfect fit: "Being able to connect with the customer and helping them feel confident is my favorite part about working at SCHEELS."

Levin loves the ever-changing industry of athletic apparel and the experiences SCHEELS provides to not just its customers, but to the employees as well, which is what she believes sets SCHEELS apart from other retail stores. "As an expert, we are continuously learning and expanding our knowledge on products to better serve our customers and provide a better overall experience," says Levin, who is excited about the expanding selection of yoga brands SCHEELS is offering. Being able to create that positive experience for the customer ultimately helps to build a relationship and keeps SCHEELS' customers coming back for years to come.

Andrew Herian has been a SCHEELS Expert for 11 years and has done everything from operating the Ferris Wheel to helping in the events office. Herian first became passionate about baseball as a kid when he would help out as the batboy for his dad's town leagues. Now he's the dad playing town ball while his son is kickstarting his baseball career. Being a SCHEELS Expert means sharing that same passion with customers, and for Herian, that means asking the customer the right questions, which in turn helps find the best options that will lead to having the best and most successful experience for the customer.

"When you're working with a SCHEELS expert, There is a good chance you will– or already have–run into one of us on the field, in the batting cages, or in the stands," says Herian. He believes that is what sets SCHEELS apart from other retailers; it's not just somebody that knows about the products they're selling, it's somebody that is an avid user of the products as well. Speaking of products, Herian is excited about the new styles of premium gloves that debut each year. Brands like Rawlings and Wilson release eye-catching color schemes, with sleek materials and styles.

Additionally, Streifel is thrilled about SCHEELS' fast-growing online presence and the ability for customers to receive that same quality service and support while shopping online: "It is great that customers can receive help in our stores from experts and now can get help with questions from experts on SCHEELS.com," says Streifel. "It is opening a whole new market for us!" Streifel believes SCHEELS provides a unique experience to customers that not only makes them happy but brings them back again and again: "Customers will tell their friends and family, who will then shop here also," says Streifel. "We have the resources to give them a shopping experience they can't get anywhere else!"

Nathan Christenson has been with the SCHEELS' Team of Experts for almost four years, helping customers find the perfect pair of shoes for every adventure that comes their way. Christenson's roots of running and spending time outdoors as a kid sparked a passion and knowledge of footwear, and the role they play in an individual's lifestyle.

Christenson dedicates himself to helping customers find the perfect pair by learning about their footwear experiences and what they want out of a new pair: "I will ask about what they have used in the past and if it worked well for them or not," says Christenson, who has a detailed approach in helping the customer find the best fit. It's not just the products that set SCHEELS apart from other retailers, however, it's the people with a passion–the faces of SCHEELS. "Having this passion allows us to connect with the customer on a greater level than any other retail store," says Christenson. "We want to see them happy with their purchase more than anything!" With the Spring season in full swing, Christenson is excited about the new line of Sorel's that SCHEELS will be carrying for the first time.
