Guest Preacher

JAMES MILTON MCCARROLL, JR. is currently the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro,TN. A Nashville, TN native, he received the Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting in 1999. He also received a Master of Divinity Degree from the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in 2003.

He was licensed to preach and ordained to the Christian Ministry at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. James C. Turner, Sr. is the pastor. He has since dedicated his life to bringing the message of faith, hope, and love in God through Jesus Christ.

Since his arrival to First Baptist Church in 2006, God has used Pastor McCarroll to bring about a revival in the congregational life to harvest a greater community impact. Led by the power of the Spirit of God, First Baptist Church has witnessed numerical, organizational, and—most importantly—spiritual growth. With a heart for the community, he has not only served on numerous boards but guided the church to give back to the local and global community through over $800,000 of donations and support.

He is the creator of “GARDENTALKS,” a weekly motivational broadcast that reaches thousands of homes by using gardening principles as metaphors for building healthy and productive lives. He is the author of ten books including the best-seller “#GARDENTALKS: 50 Lessons for Productive Living.” He is also a music writer and book publisher. His non-profit, Holy Impact Movement, supports individuals who sense a call to internationalmission work.

Pastor McCarroll has been blessed to teach and preach at numerous venues across the country, as well as internationally. Such venues include conferences, conventions, revivals, and retreats. His desire for those to whom he ministers to experience the fullness of their Christian possibility has caused him to approach ministry with sensitivity toward the holistic need for the faith, hope, and love required to encounter the promises and power that rests within a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. To this end Pastor McCarroll endeavors to impact the world for Jesus Christ through the communication and application of the Word of God.
