LITANY OF DEDICATION

NEW SANCTUARY AND ATTENDANT FACILITIES

Leader: We come to dedicate this sanctuary, and the other newly renovated facilities to the worship of our God. We commit to ensuring that this place will be a place of prayer resulting in a strong spiritual life, individually and corporately, as a church. In Matthew 21:13 we read, “And he (Jesus)) said unto them, ‘It is written, ‘My house shall be called the house of prayer…’”

People: We dedicate this sanctuary to the focused practice of corporate prayer, an extension of our daily personal, individual prayer lives.

Leader: We also endeavor to consecrate ourselves each time we enter this sacred space to present our lives holy and acceptable to you, O God. People: Create in us pure hearts, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us.

Leader: The attendant renovated rooms, pastor’s study, deaconess communion prep room, choir practice room, and others, all used to ready worship leaders for their tasks;

People: We devote these rooms to the consecrated preparation needed for leading both our educational and communal worship experiences.

Leader: Fill this sanctuary with your Holy Spirit, not just during the times of our worshipping here, but at all times so that we will feel your presence whenever we enter this sacred space.

People: This is our prayer.

Leader: May all who enter these hallowed walls find that which meets their varied individual needs for meaning and fullness of life.

People: To this end, we pray.

Leader: To the true, full and unadulterated declaration of the Gospel from all entrusted to stand behind the sacred pulpit in this sanctuary.

People: We pledge our sacred allegiance.

Leader: Finally, and in general, to the worship and acknowledgment of you, O God, as the supreme Source and Sustainer of our lives, and the central focus of all that shall take place in this sanctuary;

People: We dedicate this sanctuary and pledge our fidelity.

ALL: TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
