Using hydroelectric dams
By Emmeline BAD
: Using dams to make hydroelectricity can affect entire underwater ecosystems. It can also harm the animals or microorganisms that live inside by cutting off the supply of nutrients upstream. Hydroelectric energy is also quite costly, so most people can't afford it for their homes. In some places, dams can prevent fish (e.g salmon) from migrating to different places. The water released from a dam can be a different temperature from the water upstream or downstream.

GOOD: Using hydroelectric dams can affect us in good ways, too For one, hydroelectricity is much safer than fossil fuels. It produces little to no pollution, and is made almost entirely out of dams and reservoirs to make clean energy All hydroelectricity is clean and very renewable, and good for the planet. It can also be used to power electric cars, which are better than fueled cars.
