The only place where adventuresome anglers access the best of both the upper and lower Dean W hen faced with the cruel decision between fishing the upper or lower Dean River, anglers shouldn’t have to choose. Each is unique and has much to offer. That’s why BC West offers guests access to both; they’re the only operation that will get you fishing above and below the famous falls in the same program. BC West’s guests fish half their days guided below the falls via jetboat and the other half self-guided above the falls using personal four-wheelers to access prime runs. Equally impressive is BC West’s willingness to go the extra mile and create a splitday fishing program where anglers fish from dawn to lunch, then return to camp for a gourmet meal and a siesta before heading out in the late afternoon to fish until dark. By all standards, this is a rigorous and rewarding routine best suited to experienced anglers with an independent streak. The lodge sleeps eight in simple double-occupancy cabins and is known for their incredible meals. Their season begins with a focus on kings in late June and ends the third week of August. Rate: $7,295 plus tax per person for a 7 night/6 ½ package
