PICTURE BOOKS | CHILDREN’S GRAPHIC NOVELS

I’mso proud to present this season’s new list of books for children. Our list had grown substantially in the last few years and we have been lucky enough to have our books honored as Junior Library Guild selections, New York Times Best Illustrated titles, as well as receiving awards from ALSC (The Association for Library Service to Children) and USBBY (The United States Board on Books for Young People) not to mention, more starred reviews than we can count. For a small independent publisher like us, this is incredible. I want to thank those talented librarians, educators and booksellers who have supported us throughout the years. Without you we would not be where we are today.

Our books this season have been a joy to work on. With these beautiful new titles, we hope to help children make sense of themselves and the world around them. With sensitive and insightful stories, as well as exciting and illuminating nonfiction, we believe in the timeless appeal of great illustration, thoughtful content, and its power to bring ideas to life for all of our readers, young and old.

Oh no, the Professor has lost his bones!

PELVIS (hip)

FEMUR (thigh bone)

(shin bone)

DID YOU KNOW?

Your funny bone isn’t actually a bone, it’s a nerve in your elbow.

Your Cranium (skull) protects your brain and sits on top of your neck vertebrae.

The ribs form a cage that protects vital organs, like the heart and lungs.

The back bone, or spine, keeps your body upright and is made up of 33 separate blocks of bone called vertebrae.

Each of your hands have 27 bones in them.

The bones in your body come in all shapes and sizes. The largest bone is the femur in your legs.
