Over the course of the last few years, we have striven to consistently publish books of the highest caliber and quality both for their form and their content. Working with only the best artists, graphic novelists and illustrators in the world, whether fresh from art school or from the ranks of well-seasoned veterans, we publish books with their inherent qualities in mind. To that end, we do everything in our power to ensure that they look good, smell good, and most of all tell great stories!

Genre Key:

LEPORELLO

A superb genre-spanning mix of supernatural, historical fantasy, action, and folk-tale, this gripping book is the first in an epic trilogy from award winner Alexis Deacon. Upon her deathbed, the chief matriarch declares a contest to determine a worthy heir. What follows is a spellbinding, philosophical and beautifully illustrated story about strength, power and the true nature of the world.

Alexis Deacon graduated in 2001 with a first class honours degree in Illustration from the University of Brighton. The urge to draw has been with Alexis as long as he can remember – whenever he got bored playing with a particular toy as a child, he would pick up a sketchbook to carry the game on through pictures on paper.

Corinne Maier was born in 1963 in Geneva. As a writer, economist, historian and psychoanalyst, she has produced around 15 non-fiction books on subjects like psychoanalysis, society, history and humour.

Karl Marx dreamt of a world free from exploitation, inequality and unemployment. Growing up in an ever-transforming capitalist society, Marx sought to address the evils of the world through new ways of thinking - his solution? Revolution!

FREUD

This is the story of one of the most important figures of the twentieth century, Sigmund Freud. Masterfully distilled, beautifully illustrated and humourously recounted by Maier and Simon, this book is a necessary and entertaining introduction to the genius of Freud.

Wiz and Mug’s adventure continues in this sequel to one of the most popular and talkedabout YA comics of last year. Mythical, zany and full of humour, this book takes the unlikely duo to a ruined beach town, where they must defeat the greatest volleyball champions in the realm!

The debut graphic novel from one of America’s most sought-after comic artists, Fantasy Sports is the first in a hilarious and action-packed comic series that brings a magical, adventurefilled angle to team sporting competitions.

AN UNRELIABLE HISTORY OF TATTOOS

FEB 2016

The tattoo is an art form, a practice, and for some, a ritual. Its history is long and colourful, dating back to the Neolithic times. Today, those same markings can be made on entering the neon parlors that line our cities… Maybe it’s time to stop taking them so seriously!

Paul Thomas has been the political cartoonist of the Daily Express since 1998, and his work has also appeared in the Sunday Times, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and Private Eye. Satirical and witty, Paul enjoys pushing boundaries for the sake of humour!

HOW TO SURVIVE IN THE NORTH

With stunning narrative skill, this compelling book intricately weaves together true life narratives from 1913 and 1921 with a fictional story set in the present day. Equal parts bleak and beautiful, How to Survive in the North is a unique visual journey of love and loss that shows the strength it takes to survive in even the harshest conditions – whether that be struggling for survival in the Arctic in the 1900s or surviving a mid-life crisis in the present day.

Luke Healy was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. He received a BA in Journalism from Dublin City University, and an MFA in Cartooning from The Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, USA. Working on comics is his ‘favourite thing in the world’, and his influences include the aesthetics and attitude of the smallpress and self-publishing scene in North America.

MEAN GIRLS CLUB

This bold and beautiful comic is full of sassy clubslinging sisters who you don’t wanna mess with... Ryan Heshka creates a subversive comic that re-interprets the image of the stereotypical 50’s female and gives a new and defiant voice to these ladies of leisure.

Based in Vancouver, Ryan Heshka is a self-taught artist and illustrator. His childhood influences of antiquated comics, pin-ups, pulp magazines, sci-fi, natural history, music and movies persist to this day, and his paintings are full of pop-culture references through the ages. Ryan primarily works in acrylic paint on wood panel, frequently embellishing with cuttings from pulp magazines.

What if all the things you ever lost were to reappear? For Gerald, when he discovers his personal treasure trove of lost property, he triggers powerful memories and ignites a long lost passion to change the course of his future.

ANDY POYIADGI

Blending the best of sci-fi with honest and dark humour, Cyber Realm is a sharp imagining of the future, in a comic that takes reality, breaks, twists and rebuilds it into a new vision of the world.

A series of concertina books that unfold into stunning double-sided panoramas. Some are educational, all are beautiful.

WORSE THINGS HAPPEN AT SEA

Worse Things Happen at Sea utilizes Nobrow’s popular Leporello series to allow Strøm to flex his drawing muscles and come up with a monster of a concertina book. Inspired by tales of mythical sea creatures and the tall stories of doomed voyages passed down from sailor to son, Strøm brings us a rich tapestry of wonderment. Historical ships are attacked, enveloped and engorged by monstrous creatures surfacing from the deepest depths of the darkest oceans. Covering 20 panels each measuring 13.8cm x 23.5cm the image unfolds in front of you like a foreboding fable from the cracked lips of an old sea captain.

VINCENT MAHÉ

CURVEBALL

After years of technological advancement, the relationship between humans and robots is changing. In the midst of this turmoil, one woman faces her own breakdown at the hands of a manipulative friend. THE SPECTATORS

The Spectators unfolds as a poetic and philosophical introspection on the nature of man. Reminiscent of French New Wave cinema with its clipped dialogue, gentle pacing and departure from a classic narrative structure, The Spectators is an exciting new graphic novel by a unique illustrator.
