At Tampa Bay Pools, our deep talent and experience means we deliver every time. Choose from new pool financing and a wide selection of features and finishes to make your swimming pool dreams come true — from a budget-friendly pool to an exotic backyard oasis.
Our Pool & Spa Construction Process
Know exactly what’s happening in your backyard with our 12-step construction process — because communication and customer satisfaction are our constant priority.
Preconstruction: We finalize the design, secure the building permit and ensure the site has been properly prepared.
Excavation: Our experienced craftsmen lay out your pool and any fences, trees or shrubs in the yard are removed. Yard sprinklers are turned off and re-routed as necessary.
Initial plumbing: We install all initial plumbing, running the pipes for the filters, main drains and any passive solar systems. If an in-floor cleaning system is included, we run plumbing for this also.
Steel framework: We install our engineerapproved steel designs and complete the electrical bonding or grounding of the shell and equipment.
Gunite shell: A trained concrete professional applies the concrete (gunite) and your new pool starts to take shape. We build steps in the shallow end, and any loveseats, benches or custom features.
Deck preparation: We level the ground around the pool and remove the wood forms and any sod from the areas where the deck will be installed.
Final plumbing: We complete the plumbing work, setting all equipment in place and finalizing the plumbing to your pool.
Installing the deck: We install your new deck, whether it’s made of pavers, stamped concrete, natural stone or a different custom finish.
Electrical wiring: We complete the electrical work, installing an electrical panel if needed. We connect all lights, switches, special features and control systems to the circuit breakers.
Installing the tile: We install the tile around the perimeter of the pool and put your new skimmers in place.
Interior finish: The pool interior is handtroughed and waterproofed and the final finish is applied. Any surface hardware are also installed: skimmer covers, main drain covers, in-floor cleaners and return caps.
Pool startup: It’s finally time for your pool startup. A service professional meets with you at your new pool to explain all of the operations and functions and answer your questions.
