In addition to tree planting, we also invest in verified carbon reduction projects (Gold Standard and VCS) via Ecologi.

We’re a proud participant of the United Nations Global Compact, aligning our work with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - an urgent blueprint for building a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive world.

The UN’s 17 SDGs provide a global framework to tackle the world’s most urgent challenges - from ending poverty and protecting the planet to advancing equity and fostering peace. These goals are grounded in the four guiding principles of the UN Global Compact.

Our tree-planting initiative is one way we bring the SDGs and guiding principles to life. In partnership with Ecologi, we plant a tree for every order - supporting reforestation efforts that restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and reduce carbon emissions. It’s a direct reflection of our commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.

But the impact goes even further. These efforts spark a ripple effect in communities around the world - creating jobs, supporting local economies, and empowering people through regenerative growth.

We’ve made it personal!

In the same way that we all use food labelling in the supermarket for our individual tastes and diets, different customers value different sustainability credentials. So, rather than simply giving the product an ‘eco-stamp’, we’ve made it more granular, with over 25 credentials to inform your decision - helping you make the right choice for your individual requirements.

Our goal is to make sustainable procurement transparent, compliant, and impactfulwithout adding complexity to your workload.

Our Sustainability Key

Every product featured in this brochure has been carefully evaluated through our in-house sustainability lens, because doing better for the planet starts with making better choices.

Here’s what we look at when grading each product:

Material Makeup

Is it made from a single material (hello, easy recycling!) or a mix of many? The simpler, the better when it comes to end-of-life disposal.

Country of Origin

Where was the product made, nearby or far away? Local sourcing means a lighter carbon footprint. Bonus points for UK-made.

Recycled Content

Is the product made using recycled materials? That’s a win. Reusing what already exists helps reduce demand for virgin resources.

Manufacturing Waste Reuse

Does it give second life to pre-/postconsumer waste like discarded water bottles or offcuts? That’s innovation we love.

Biodegradability & Compostability

Will the product naturally return to the earth? That means less harm and more harmony with nature.

Recyclability (UK & EU)

Can it be recycled at the end of its life? Less waste, more circular economy.

Life Span

How long will it last? Can it be refilled, reused or repurposed? Think meaningful merch, not single-use plastic.

Transport Footprint

Was it shipped by air or sea? Air freight = high emissions. Rail and sea = greener paths.

Packaging

Is the packaging minimal, recyclable or reusable? Sustainable inside and out.

Certifications & Accreditations

We look for trustworthy standards like FSC, ISO, GOTS, along with Sedex to back up the ESG claims.

Energy Use

Is the product made in factories powered by renewables? We champion cleaner energy at every stage.

SDG Alignment

Does the product or maker support the UN Sustainable Development Goals? That’s the bigger picture we’re working toward.

Sustainability Key Explainer

MONO MATERIAL

A mono-material product is only composed of a single type of material. Zips, buckles, etc, are not included.

TRANSPORT - ROAD, SEA OR RAIL

The product has been transported using either road, sea or rail.

B CORP

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. Evidence needed, certification and logo.

BIODEGRADABLE

This product has the ability to be broken down naturally, with at least 60% of it breaking down in the ecosystem. We aim to further increase this percentage in the future. Evidence needed, certification.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

A product carbon footprint measures the total greenhouse gas emissions generated by this product, this can be from extraction of raw materials, to end-of-life. Evidence needed, Life Cycle Assessment (or LCA).

COMPOSTABLE

This product has been made with certain materials that have been certified to break down completely into non-toxic components (water, carbon dioxide and biomass) that will not harm the environment, given that the product is in the right conditions. Evidence needed, certification.

DOUBLE DONATION

Double donation means the product has donated twice, the first one is having a tree planted for your order and the second is either giving back to charity, community or also planting another tree.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Economic empowerment is where a company empowers people with little resources through education, employment, health services, and giving them a sense of identity and community in which they can thrive and grow.

ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS

Environmental certifications monitor and help improve the environmental status of the product. They are renewed annually to make sure the product is still meeting the standards. Evidence needed, certification and logo.

ENVIRONMENTAL PACKAGING

Environmental packaging creates less of a negative impact on the environment with regards to manufacturing, production, shipping and disposal or recycling - Gift box, recycled materials, pouch, biodegradable or compostable bags. Evidence needed, for plastic packaging to be certified as biodegradable EU and UK have adopted the BS EN 13432 standard.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

A circular economy reduces material use, redesigns materials, products and services to be less resource intensive, and recaptures “waste” as a resource to manufacture new materials and products - Is the product in a Circular Economy?

This product has been made in Europe - 100%.

MADE IN THE UK

This product has been made in the UK - 100%. Evidence needed. Suppliers can apply for Made in Britain.

This product has been grown without harmful chemicals, leaving the soil, air and water free from contaminants that can cause harm. Evidence needed, certification and logo.

FREE

This product has been made without any plastic, including PLA.

FREE PACKAGING

No plastic has been used in the packaging (inner and outer).

The French Decree No. 2014-1577 has made it mandatory to print the Triman Logo on recyclable products and packaging sold to consumers in France. The main reason is to make it easier for consumers to understand how to sort their rubbish. Products and packaging featuring the Triman Logo are meant to be collected in separate waste streams, such as paper or recyclable plastics. Without the symbol, the product will be disposed of in the general waste. Evidence needed, Triman Logo.

RECYCLABLE

This product can be easily recycled. Evidence needed, there should be the on-pack recycling label (or OPRL) on the product and packaging.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISES

Social enterprises are businesses that put the interests of people and planet ahead of shareholder gain. These businesses are driven by a social/ environmental mission and reinvest profits into creating positive social change. Evidence needed, social enterprise certifications.

SUPPLIER DIVERSITY

Supplier diversity is where a business is at least 51% owned and operated by an individual or group that is part of a traditionally underrepresented or underserved group.

SUSTAINABLE FOREST - WOOD

This product has been made with sustainably sourced wood which minimises the impact of logging on forests and the surrounding wildlife and communities. Evidence needed, FSC or PEFC logo.

TREE PLANTING DONATION

Since 2021, we’ve partnered with Ecologi, an environmental organisation and B Corp, which plants a tree for every order you place with us. Through this, you’re helping us accelerate to a more sustainable future.

This product is vegan as it does not contain any animal extracts or animal by-products in the product or manufacturing process. Evidence needed, Certified Vegan logo.
