THANKSGIVING
According to Strong’s definition, the Hebrew wordThanksgiving is “TOWDAH (to-daw)”, and it means Confession, Praise, and Offering. When we give thanks in the truest sense of the biblical WORD, we offerourpraise and acknowledge to God that He is the Giverof all good gifts.Thanksgiving involves not only recognizing blessings but also sharing them with others. “Give thanks inALL circumstances; for this is God’s will foryou in Christ Jesus.”
(1Thessalonians 5:18)
“Thanksgiving is good, butThanks-Living is better.”
(Adapted from Matthew Henry).

Greater Recovery Ministry
The Greater Recovery Ministry is an outreach ministry that serves individuals spiritually who are fighting with the psychological, spiritual, and behavioral effects of addictions. Our Goal, through the Love of God, is to help individuals get complete deliverance from all types of addictions. Individuals will be encouraged and supported while in the recovery process. We know that Jesus has the power to set you free from alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, the internet, nicotine, co-dependency, shopping, etc.
The curriculum for the Greater Recovery Ministry is the manifested vision of our Senior Pastor, Bishop LaVelton J. Daniel. He desires to see “All Souls” receive freedom from the “World of Negative Addiction.” The Implementation of the curriculum consists of 12 Godly principles that will be discussed weekly in a support group setting by trained facilitators.
The curriculum for the youth participants will focus on drug prevention and education. If you, a family member, or a friend need support, we can schedule a day and time to meet that's convenient for you.

Two Prophets of God
Unit 3: Jonah: A Resistant Prophet
November 3, 2024: LESSON 10: Jonah Repents; Jonah 2:1-10; Teacher: Sister Carol Wade – In this week's lesson, Jonah cries out from the belly of the great fish. He prays and thanks God for protecting and saving him from Sheol (hell). Jonah expresses his commitment to obey God and fulfill his vow. Our teacher, Sister Wade, shared with us the Hebrew word “Hesed,” pronounced kheh’-sed. This word refers to a loyal, covenantal love and is characterized by great tenderness and consideration toward others. Throughout the Hebrew Bible, hesed is translated in various ways, including steadfast love, mercy, lovingkindness, and goodness. It implies a love that pursues (chases) you and meets you wherever you are.

November 10, 2024: LESSON 11: Nineveh Repents; Jonah 3:1-10; Teacher: Minister Renata Jackson - One of the most encouraging aspects of God's nature, as revealed in His Word, is His willingness to offer us a second chance. This quality distinguishes Him from false pagan gods. Throughout the Bible, we see many individuals whom God granted a second chance, including Adam and Eve, David, and Miriam in the Old Testament, as well as Peter and Paul in the New Testament, among others. Each of these examples illustrates God’s mercy and grace. Like them, we too can find ourselves in need of forgiveness; God offers this gift to everyone who believes in Christ, providing each of us with a second opportunity. God's grace towards Jonah and the people of Nineveh should inspire deep gratitude in all of us.
November 17, 2024: LESSON 12: Jonah is Angry with God: Jonah 4:1-11; Teacher: Deaconess Melanie Moon – How much control do we let our emotions have over us? Spiritual growth involves allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us in managing our feelings and living according to God's Word. God understands our emotions and wants to help us if we let Him. The Bible features many individuals with emotional struggles, such as Moses, who lost his temper, and Elijah and Jeremiah, who faced depression. God used each of them for His purpose, encouraging them to maintain faith and trust in Him. Jonah’s story is another example of uncontrolled emotions. He was angry with God for sparing Nineveh and showed more pity for a plant than for the people. God reminded him of the value of compassion in verse 11: “And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons...?” To manage our emotions, we should stay mindful and seek help through prayer, Bible reading, and reliance on God. November 24, 2024: LESSON 13: Jesus Points to Jonah; Matthew 12:22-32; 38-40; Teacher: Sister Deborah Thomas – Jesus faced significant opposition from the Pharisees and other Jewish scholars, who prided themselves on being more righteous than others. However, Jesus looked beyond their outward appearances and recognized them as frauds. When He performed miracles that evidenced His identity as the Messiah, the Pharisees refused to accept this proof. Instead, they accused Him of using demonic power. When they demanded Jesus perform a sign to validate Himself, He referred them back to the prophet Jonah. Jesus stated that the only sign they would receive would be the sign of Jonah: “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” This pointed to His resurrection. As believers, we should be aware that we will encounter opposition when we do what is right aligning with God’s will. Facing opposition is part of the journey when we faithfully follow Jesus.
