The pursuit of discovering earthly paradises has always been a natural inclination for Céline. Born in the historic port city of Marseille, in the south of France, she grew up amidst mountains and the deep blue of the Mediterranean. After completing her Law degree, she decided to pursue her dream of exploration and obtained a Master's degree in Tourism and Hospitality from the renowned Vatel International School. From there, she never stopped soaring. Following roles at Sofitel hotels in Tahiti, Equatorial Guinea, and the Côte d'Azur, organizing luxurious events in Paris, her Brazilian dream took flight when she moved to Floripa with her family. Her love for the sea led her to discover kitesurfing, and it was love at first sight. Today, residing on Preá Beach, the land of wind, Céline combines her two passions, tourism and kite, through Azur Experiential Travel. Allow yourself to embark on this atmosphere where details make the difference, savoring the best that life has to offer, mastering the waves during the day, and relaxing in the most elegant hotels of your destination, where kitesurfing becomes a transcendental experience. We came on a mission! Our goal: To arrive in Ceará and produce the first FLORIPAKITE LIFESTYLE CEARÁ Online Magazine! We came with the support of Azur Viagens, in partnership with Céline Pantera, and we are grateful! Here it is, our first magazine made outside of Floripa, and it comes with its English version for international projection, where we are already read in 10 countries around the world. (source www.issuu.com) We thank all our friends, partners, and interviewees for contributing to this edition. Especially to the brothers Diego and Juliano Rodrigues and their parents who welcomed us with open arms here in Preá. Juliano lent me his MacBook Air after my MacBook Pro burnt out due to a power outage on September 6, allowing me to continue my work on editing and finalizing the graphic production of this magazine, which took over 100 hours of dedication to format the pages and complete this publication!"
On the cover, we have the performances of Riders Capu Delannoy, Jalila, Diego and Juliano Rodrigues, and Yaron captured by Alex Mello's lens. Preá is the Mecca of Kitesurfing, according to Mosquito, the icon who pioneered this beach, along with his wife Vanessa, and shared their stories, leading to the establishment of Rancho do Kite as one of the main meeting points, for lessons and sailing. Kitesurfers and Sun, we interviewed Dr. Cyro Muller, Márcio from Nob Multisports, and Juliano from Brazinco Protectors, about skin cancer. They all support athlete Alessandra Audino, who has Melanoma. We created the Kite Tour Experience Project and had wonderful experiences at Mkni Hotel and Vila Kalango. We participated in the KiteCamp with Ocean Riders and Preá On Beach Suites, and the testimonials from Emile and Adriano showcase the excellence of this immersion. I accompanied Ocean Riders on the DownWind from Preá to Camocim, which was enriching and magical. We interviewed the current Vice World Champion Capucine Delannoy, just days before she left for Morocco, to defend her title. Jonas Monteiro talked about his experience in XPSERTÕES, which also features images from the arrival, in the stage here in Preá, and from Russo, who was with LKB during the race. Eliseu Souza is the photographer for this edition, who sent beautiful images. BabyShark, Yaron Moura, shared their stories. Keven Lennox talked about the positioning of his brand, 100% Kite. I photographed Tamara Bica and Isa Gazola in Lennox clothing, at Rancho do Kite! Neuroscientist Mari Lopes wrote about Flow in Sports, that state that every Rider feels, and comes out of the water with a sense of well-being! Lu Adamo talked about KiteTrip and safety in sailing, and Carol de Oliveira with Ingrid Lodi organized a KiteTrip in Icaraízinho. Chef Alex Moravila from the Peruvian restaurant Cuzco talked about being in Preá and serving tourists and Kitesurfers! I dedicated a page to the Sunset - Sunset, which happens differently and beautifully every day! A moment to give thanks for another day lived in the Land of the Wind and to contemplate the end of the day, with the Sun disappearing on the horizon! One magazine is not enough to talk about Ceará. @wscbrasil
The interview was conducted with Dr. Cyro Muller, a general surgeon responsible for treating athlete Alessandra Aldino's melanoma. Alessandra is a kitesurfer who is frequently exposed to the sun and was diagnosed with an invasive melanoma, which required a more comprehensive treatment. @dr.cyromuller
Dr. Cyro explains that melanoma is related to sun exposure, but it also has genetic components. He emphasizes that care should be constant, avoiding peak sun exposure hours and using water-resistant sunscreen. In addition to sun exposure, other healthy habits like a balanced diet and reducing harmful substances can help in the prevention of cancer in general, including melanoma. For kitesurfers, the use of mechanical barriers like protective clothing, in addition to sunscreen, is recommended. The period from noon to three in the afternoon is considered the most critical, and practitioners should be especially cautious during this time.
Dr. Cyro emphasizes that melanoma is a serious skin cancer and that prevention and early detection are crucial for a cure. He highlights the importance of emotional support during treatment and the need to seek professional guidance rather than relying solely on internet information. For kitesurfers, he stresses the importance of managing sun exposure times, using protective clothing and accessories, and scheduling regular appointments with qualified professionals. The interview concludes with Alessandra thanking Dr. Cyro for his care and guidance throughout her melanoma treatment.
"How to Protect Your Skin Under the Intense Sun of Ceará"
@nobmultisports
Márcio Nobrega from NOB Multisports discusses sun protective clothing. Márcio mentioned that NOB Multisports provides UV clothing, which is used by athletes of the company, including Alessandra, who has a melanoma issue. They discussed the importance of sun protection, especially for water sports where people are exposed to the sun. He explained that the story of NOB Multisports began in 2006 when a sailing athlete had skin cancer on her shin, which led to the search for sun protective clothing. He talked about the importance of the fabric's weave and mesh in sun protection, emphasizing that the choice of fabric is crucial. Márcio explains how NOB Multisports started producing UV protective clothing and how the design of the clothing, especially for water sports, is crucial to ensure proper protection. He also talked about the difference between polyamide and polyester fabrics in terms of UV protection. Márcio mentioned that the market for UV protective clothing is growing, especially in water sports like kitesurfing."
He also spoke about the growing awareness regarding sun protection and how UV protective clothing can contribute to this awareness. Regarding the latest technologies, Márcio emphasized the importance of using certified materials and explained that they use materials that are tested in laboratories in Australia. He also discussed the challenges of creating UV protective clothing, such as ensuring a good fit and design. Finally, Márcio talked about the future of sportswear, highlighting that sun protection and comfort will continue to be crucial. He believes that future sportswear fashion will increasingly prioritize UV protection. The interview concluded with an emphasis on the importance of sun protection and the use of UV protective clothing, especially in regions with high sun exposure, such as southern Brazil.
A Brazinco contributes to the discussion on skincare, emphasizing the importance of sunscreen in preventing sun damage, such as burns, premature aging, and skin cancer.
@protetorbrazinco
Dr. Juliano, founder of Brazinco, shared the inspiration behind the creation of the company, which arose from his own need to find a long-lasting and effective sunscreen for outdoor activities in Brazil, without the need for constant reapplication.
@alexmello8
Brazinco's connection with athletes and an active lifestyle is evident in their products, which are developed to withstand the rigorous conditions of extended workouts. The company takes pride in producing vegan and sustainable sunscreens, free from harmful components for both the human body and the environment, such as parabens, oxybenzone, and octinoxate. Sun protection is seen as an essential form of prevention, and Brazinco promotes education about the importance of self-care, prevention, and early diagnosis of skin cancer. Brazinco sunscreens stand out for their dry-touch texture, water and sweat resistance, and are approved by Anvisa with 100% efficiency.
The partnership with athletes, such as Alessandra Audino, influences the development of products, allowing for constant refinement of the formula to meet the specific needs of athletes.
Brazinco continues to innovate, expanding its range of shades and increasing the sun protection factor (SPF), all while maintaining a commitment to environmental protection. The partnership with the BRASILKITE Project is seen as a way to support athletes who contribute to Brazil's recognition in outdoor sports, promoting protection technology and high performance.
M O N T E I R O "EXAMPLE OF OVERCOMING!" @jonas_kitesurfista Jonas Monteiro participated in the XPSertões Kitesurfing Challenge. Jonas has an undiscovered syndrome; he has four fingers on his hands and feet, lacks arm movement, was born with a cleft palate, and has deformed feet. He is 20 years old and sometimes thinks like a child. Jonas is a dear soul who excels in kitesurfing and serves as a shining example that sports are inclusive. Jonas mentioned that the race was quite challenging due to its length. He managed to complete the first lap, but many other participants also gave up due to the high physical demands, especially on the legs. He expressed the wish for the race to consist of a single lap, as he found the length to be too much. Nevertheless, he valued the challenge and the opportunity to push his own limits. Jonas is a native of Tatajuba and lives there with Tone Tornado. He talked about his training and his interest in obtaining sponsorship for future competitions. Regarding kitesurfing, Jonas explained that the sport provides a unique sensation of being in the present moment and burning energy intensely. He quickly learned to practice and appreciates the need to know how to swim and use the appropriate equipment. On the day of the interview, Jonas used an 8-meter kite to handle the strong wind, and he was pleased with his equipment choice.
We interviewed the couple Alexandre 'Mosquito' Rolim and Vanessa Chastinet @ranchodokite
The interview with Vanessa Chastinet, owner of Rancho do Kite and wife of Alexandre "Mosquito," began with her sharing a bit of her kiteboarding history. Vanessa is originally from Brasília, but she had been visiting Ceará since she was a child, especially Jericoacoara. At a certain point, she moved there and tried to start a diving school, but the wind wasn't cooperating. It was then that she and her husband, Mosquito, started kiteboarding and heard about a kiteboarding course. They sold their only kite to take the course and were subsequently hired to manage a kiteboarding school in the area. Over the years, Rancho do Kite has grown from a small group of friends teaching each other to a professional operation with 25 instructors. Vanessa emphasized that Preá has ideal wind conditions for the sport, which contributed to the success of Rancho do Kite. She mentioned that the sport has also become more accessible and inclusive, teaching older women and children.
During the pandemic, kiteboarding saw an increase in popularity, as many Brazilians were limited to traveling within the country. Vanessa is a kiteboarding instructor and still loves to ride, considering the sea and kite surfing as her "prayer." They were the pioneers in Preá, transforming it from a fishing village into a popular kiteboarding destination. Vanessa mentioned that they have plans to open another Rancho do Kite in the Barrinha region next year, maintaining the same family atmosphere. Rancho do Kite offers various kiteboarding courses, from beginners to advanced, including Wing foil. The classes are predominantly one-on-one, with one instructor per student, to ensure safety. They have been a Cabrinha-sponsored school for over 20 years and have a very strong business and emotional relationship with the brand.
@elizoom10
The interview also covered the "XPSertões" Kite event, which was born during the pandemic and has become an annual event in Preá. Vanessa emphasized the importance of the team in the success of Rancho do Kite and how many instructors have grown within the company, now having their own families and making a living from kiteboarding. The kiteboarding season runs from June to February, with a low season still offering ideal winds for the sport. In addition to kiteboarding, Rancho do Kite is also promoting other sports such as Hawaiian canoeing and biking through the dunes. The interview concluded with a message of success for everyone in the world of kiteboarding, with a special emphasis on the importance of women's unity in the sport.
Alexandre "Mosquito," known as a legend of kitesurfing at Preá Beach, shared his journey and how he became an icon in this sport. Initially, he arrived in the region while working for a guaraná company, even before Preá Beach became a popular spot for kitesurfing. Recognizing the potential of the area, he decided to invest in it. As time went on, Mosquito's desire to create a kitesurfing school, in partnership with his wife Vanessa, led to the founding of Rancho do Kite in 2003. Since then, the ranch has expanded, offering not only accommodation but also instruction and leisure options for kitesurfing enthusiasts. Furthermore, Mosquito discussed his future projects, which include the expansion of the Ranch, the establishment of schools, education, hospitals, and housing for local residents and workers. Throughout the interview, Mosquito emphasized the importance of awareness about the risks of skin cancer and the need for sunscreen protection during the practice of the sport, sharing a personal experience where he went kiteboarding without sunscreen. He also shared a remarkable story of his epic kite ride from Cumbuco to Preá, emphasizing how kitesurfing can be a transformative experience and a way to connect people. Mosquito concluded the interview by praising the growth of kitesurfing in the Ceará region and the diversity of practitioners, emphasizing that the sport is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. Overall, the interview provides a comprehensive insight into Mosquito's passion for kitesurfing, his role as an entrepreneur in the Preá community, and his visions for the future of Rancho do Kite and kitesurfing in the region.

The Kitesurf School at Rancho do Kite is well-structured, with 25 instructors and Cabrinha Kites equipment.
Peruvian cuisine @cuzcocozinhaperuana
Alex Morivela, the chef of the Peruvian restaurant Cuzco located on Praia do Preá, Ceará, on the 3rd floor of the Pousada Preá On Beach Suites, is Peruvian and has been living in Brazil for 13 years, with 12 of them in Rio de Janeiro and a little over a year in Ceará. The motivation to start Cuzco in Ceará was his passion for the Peruvian food business and his connection with the region. The name "Cuzco" refers to a very well-known city in Peru, nationally and internationally, which is Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Alex chose this name for the restaurant so that people could connect with Peruvian culture and cuisine.
Seafood rice
About Peruvian cuisine, Alex emphasizes that it is very diverse, offering dishes with variations of spiciness, acidity, and saltiness, depending on what one desires to eat. In the restaurant, they adapt a bit to the palate of the region, considering that the audience is half foreign and half national, with tourists from different states. Alex mentions that personally, he enjoys very spicy ceviche, emphasizing that a true Peruvian ceviche should be like that. However, for the customers, they adjust the level of spiciness according to their preferences, providing an experience tailored to each palate.

Number 1 in Big Air in Latin America and 7th in the World @josuesanf
The interview with Baby Shark, the Big Air Kitesurfer, covers various aspects of his journey and experience in the world of kitesurfing. Baby Shark is the number 1 Big Air kitesurfer in Latin America and holds the seventh spot in the world rankings, all at just 17 years old. His first encounter with kitesurfing was through his father, who was already competing and had a kitesurfing school. At the tender age of five, Baby Shark, inspired by watching his father soar through the air, asked to learn. His father taught him the basics, but he began learning and honing his skills on his own from the age of seven. As Baby Shark delved more into the sport, particularly in training for Big Air, he realized that this was something he wanted to pursue for life. He emphasizes the difference between traditional kitesurfing, which is more competition-focused, and the modern form, which is practiced more for enjoyment. Starting his career as a professional athlete, Baby Shark faced challenges, primarily due to the lack of support and sponsorship in Brazil compared to Europe, where it is more common. However, he persisted, and over time, he began to receive support from local brands.
His sponsors play a significant role in his development, providing him with appropriate equipment and allowing him to participate in product testing. This is crucial for his performance in competitions. To

His goal was to be among the top ten in the world, and achieving this feat is incredibly gratifying. His relationship with sponsors is crucial for his development, as they provide the equipment and support necessary for him to compete at a high level. Baby Shark shares that the new generation of kitesurfers, with their more extreme maneuvers, has played a significant role in the evolution of the sport. He offers advice for those aspiring to become professional kitesurfers, emphasizing the importance of dedication and persistence, even in the face of challenges. Currently, Baby Shark gives advanced kitesurfing lessons, working with schedules that allow him to continue his own training. H O F M A N N Instructor Heiner Hofmann began his journey in the world of kite very early, at the age of 9, when he joined the Aeronautical Initiation Department in Porto Alegre, RS. There, he received training from young pilots to instruct the "Mirins" (young ones). By the time he started kiteboarding at 14, he already had an advanced understanding of aeronautical principles. He also had experience in wakeboarding and even set up a school for it. However, after a while, he decided to refocus on kiteboarding, where he found his passion. Currently, he shares his technical knowledge through videos and kite lessons, aiming to elevate the level of kiteboarding in Brazil. Heiner emphasizes the importance of risk management in this extreme sport and the need to understand kite preferences and signals to ensure safety during practice.
Regarding his future projects, Heiner mentioned the idea of re-establishing a wakeboarding school in southern Brazil and is working on a project called H3 Shop, a virtual shopping platform dedicated to kiteboarding gear. He emphasizes the importance of breaking down maneuvers to teach effectively, and his goal is to elevate the level of kiteboarding in Brazil, starting with basic content and progressing as practitioners advance. He also highlights the need to raise awareness about kite preferences and signals, aspects often overlooked in lessons. Heiner primarily shares his knowledge on Instagram and YouTube, where he saw a significant increase in followers after starting to share kiteboarding content. He believes that his teaching technique, based on processes, is one of his biggest contributions to kiteboarding instruction in Brazil.

@YARON_MOURA Alessandra Audino interviews Yaron Moura, a freestyle kitesurfer originally from Jericoacoara and currently residing in Praia do Preá, for the 4th edition of FLORIPAKITE LIFESTYLE Online Magazine.
Yaron began his journey in kitesurfing at the age of 14, assisting his mother at a beach shack in Jericoacoara, where he became captivated by the sport after witnessing a competition. He competed in various championships, including world championships in Germany and Barra Grande in 2014, as well as several regional and youth competitions in Cumbuco. Yaron participated in all stages of XPSertões, initially with borrowed equipment. In the second stage, with sponsorship, he secured third place, and in the final stage, he finished in second place. He also won the challenge at Rancho do Kite, earning his entry into XPSertões. XPSertões is a highly physical competition, demanding significant physical and mental preparation due to the extreme exertion. During the competition, the choice of equipment, especially the kites, is crucial for performance.
Yaron received crucial support from FeelViana hotel in Portugal, whose owner sponsors him and provides full backing for his competitions. He plans to compete in Kite Wave or Big Air world championships in the future, but emphasizes the importance of securing more sponsorships to achieve these goals. Yaron believes in the significance of dreaming and expresses gratitude for every moment of his journey, emphasizing that money cannot buy true happiness. Alessandra congratulates Yaron on his journey and courage in the world of kitesurfing and invites him to sail in Floripa, offering all necessary support. Yaron leaves an encouraging message for all those who dream of becoming athletes, highlighting the importance of believing, focusing on goals, and being grateful for the journey..

Carol talked about the growing popularity of Wing Foil, highlighting its practicality in terms of equipment and the ability to be practiced in Jericoacoara year-round, due to the lower wind requirements compared to other water sports. The organizer also explained the format of the races, which are decided daily, balancing wind conditions and athlete skill levels. She emphasized the participation of the local community, including awarding prizes to native athletes.
At the end of the interview, Carol invited everyone to participate in the event, emphasizing the festive atmosphere and the beauty of the location. She expressed optimism and enthusiasm about the event and the growth of the sport. 3X World Champ! Alex Mello interviewed Guilly Brandão, a three-time World Kitewave Champion who is involved in the Jeri Wing Foil Cup. Guilly explains that the organization actually leads the event, but he played the role of "Flag Man" in the previous year, operating the start flags. Guilly emphasizes the importance of hosting the final stage of the World Wing Foil Race Championship in Brazil, especially in Jericoacoara. He highlights the exceptional wind and wave conditions in the region, making it a unique spot in the world. The competition consists of circuits defined daily by the race director, taking into account wind conditions. There's no pre-defined mileage. The goal is to qualify 10 competitors for the championship final. Guilly describes the "pumping" technique used by athletes to maximize speed, even in strong winds. He also emphasizes the evolution of the sport and how wing foiling challenges athletes. Regarding the championship, Guilly expresses the desire to maintain the tradition of hosting the final in Brazil. He highlights the collective effort of the brands involved in promoting the sport and providing an exceptional experience for participants.
Guilly talks about the e-group, which brings together various inns and water sports centers along the coast. They aim to provide a complete experience, including a connection with nature and local culture. The interviewee emphasizes the importance of the experiences provided by sports and travel, highlighting how wing foiling offers a unique perspective on the world. Guilly shares his satisfaction in seeing his 5-year-old son, Bento, getting involved in the sport, and how this represents a dream come true for him. While he had the opportunity to compete, Guilly is currently more focused on work and family, and believes that entering competitions requires 100% dedication. He concludes by congratulating the magazine's initiative and wishing success for the publication.
The brand Lennox was born in 2015 in Ceará, but I have been in the textile industry since a young age. The first kite pieces I produced were in 2006 under the previous brand called Aerivs, and they were sold in Cumbuco and Fortaleza. The main inspiration was the lifestyle that this sport provides, but I've always followed brands like Volcom, Lost, and some other alternative brands in the international scene.

The philosophy of our brand is our essence: we are a 100% kite brand! The culture of Ceará directly influences our creations, and in this year of 2023, we've created a trilogy of prints that are entirely focused on Ceará. The prints in this trilogy are called "I sailed in Ceará," "Land of the Wind," and "Cordel do Kite." The last one, "Cordel do Kite," which completes the trilogy, will be launched in October. The phrase "Kite não tem cura" (Kite has no cure) came to me six years ago, after a few months of recovering from an injury. Naturally, I was kept out of the water, but I couldn't stop thinking about the kite sessions I was missing out on. Then, on a very windy afternoon, I thought to myself: "This sport is an addiction, a one-way path, kite has no cure... but it is the cure!" Because once you're in the water, all the pain of withdrawal fades away and magically transforms into well-being and satisfaction.
Our goal is to continue with 100% focus on kite and to be more present in kite spots in Brazil and around the world.
A aspect of creation arises naturally, given the immense satisfaction that comes from being able to bring ideas to life in clothing. It's also important to consider the two decades dedicated exclusively to creations involving water sports. In this second half of 2023, we are introducing a second slogan called "100% kite," which joins our classic slogan "kite não tem cura" (kite has no cure). The importance of featuring a photo shoot in the magazine is to further spread our message, which is clear to practitioners of this wonderful sport: made by kiteboarders for kiteboarders! Sustainability is crucial in today's world, and we already implement some sustainable processes as well as use sustainable fabrics. A piece of advice for new practitioners is: “Make the most of the lifestyle this sport provides, and let's take care of nature because we depend on it for life and for kiteboarding!”

Flow in Sports Do you know about the science of the Flow state in sports? @amar.ilopez
Clear and unambiguous feedback: Adjusting movements and actions through mental self-assessment.mental.
@alexmello8 Mariana Lopez is a Psychologist, specialized in Clinical Neuropsychology, holding a Master's degree in Psychology, a Doctorate in Psychology, and a Post-doctorate in Psychology. She works in clinical practice, research, and teaching, specializing in Cognitive Psychology, Psychophysiology, and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is also an Instructor in Yoga and Meditation. The state of flow, a theory developed by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, is a psychological phenomenon characterized by a pleasurable and focused experience on a task, often associated with high-performance athletes. This state is marked by a lack of distractions, intrinsic motivation, and productive effort. Intrinsic motivation, where a person engages in the task for the sheer pleasure and interest in it, is crucial in achieving flow. Individuals with an autotelic personality, who exhibit high levels of curiosity,
persistence,
autonomy,
and
independence from external factors, are more likely to reach this state.
Reaching the state of flow requires a clear understanding of the processes and techniques involved in the task, as well as mentally visualizing the action and step-by-step of the training. It is also crucial to perceive challenges as opportunities and find harmony between one's own skills and the demands of the task. This state does not occur in any activity, but rather in the perfect combination of competencies, skills, and challenges. At a physiological level, flow involves a unique brain state, with reduced activity in the prefrontal cortex and spikes of activity in areas associated with reward and neurotransmitter release, promoting feelings of well-being and happiness.
Merging of action and awareness: Automating the activity with integrated awareness and fluidity in movement.
@alexmello8 Flow
encompasses
nine
crucial
dimensions: 1• Harmony between challenge and skill: Balancing the task's difficulty with one's abilities and capabilities. 2• Task-focused concentration: Maintaining focused attention without distractions. 3• Clear goals: Having defined objectives for each movement or stage of the task. 4•
Clear
and
unambiguous feedback:
Adjusting movements and actions through mental self-assessment. 5• Merging of action and awareness: Automating the activity with integrated awareness and fluidity in movement. 6• Sense of control: Feeling confident and avoiding being overwhelmed by fear, tension, or failure. 7•
Loss
of
self-awareness:
Complete
engagement in the task, feeling one with the environment. 8• Altered sense of time: Perceiving time as either slower or faster than usual. 9• Autotelic experience: Deriving pleasure and motivation from the activity itself, not just the outcomes.
Studies indicate that the state of flow brings significant benefits to psychological and brain health, including increased resilience, reduction in depressive symptoms, prevention of burnout, decreased stress, and anxiety. In summary, the state of flow is a unique and highly beneficial experience that demands the right combination of competence, skill, and challenge, driven by intrinsic motivation.
