FLORIDA STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION Thank you for supporting the Florida State Golf Association. As a member of the FSGA, you are helping us preserve and protect this great game. We must first recognize all of the FSGA Committee Volunteers who make our service to the game possible. There are more than 450 volunteers across Florida who assist with tournaments and course rating. The FSGA has become one of the premier state golf associations in the country because of these fine men and women. In 2024, we look forward to conducting a full schedule of over 600 days of competition including: 51 state championships, 46 USGA qualifying events, including a U.S. Adaptive Open qualifier, and over 150 One-Day tournaments. The Florida Junior Tour (FJT) continues to provide competitive and affordable tournaments for the state’s top junior golfers. In its 22nd season, the FJT consists of more than 55 events for boys and girls ages 9-18. If you have the chance, come out to see these unbelievable junior golfers! We hope you will join the FSGA as a Foundation Member and support the Future of Golf Foundation. The Foundation benefits the state’s juniors with college scholarships and assistance with travel expenses to state and national tournaments. We appreciate your support and dedication to the game of golf. Sincerely,

Moe Gallant FSGA President

PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

WOMEN’S PLAYERS OF THE YEAR WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR - MEGAN SCHOFILL Megan Schofill received this honor after a remarkable 2023 season. The Auburn University graduate student won the U.S Women’s Amateur Championship at Bel-Air Country Club in August, defeating fellow Floridian, Latanna Stone, 4-and-3. Playing in her sixth U.S. Women’s Amateur, Schofill is the first Floridian to win the title since Morgan Pressell in 2005. The 2020 Florida Women’s Amateur champion also becomes the first Auburn Tiger to win the U.S. Women’s Amateur. With this victory, Schofill receives exemptions into the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open, Chevron Championship, AIG Women’s British Open and Amundi Evian Championship, along with an invitation to the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

WOMEN’S SENIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR - KIM KEYER-SCOTT Kim Keyer-Scott has earned Women’s Senior Player of the Year honors following a successful 2023 season filled with wins and top finishes. This is the second time in three years that Keyer-Scott has received this honor. Most recently, Keyer-Scott captured a victory at the Southern Senior Amateur, a victory that secured the Player of the Year honors for the Bonita Springs resident. Keyer-Scott advanced to the Semifinals at the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. She took her Semifinal match to extra holes, falling to the eventual champion, Sarah Gallagher, in 19 holes. JUNIOR PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

BOYS’ JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR - DARREN ZHOU Darren Zhou racked up four Florida Junior Tour victories throughout the year, including two top-eight performances at state championships. Thirteen-year old Zhou started off his year with a strong performance at the FJT University of Florida (13-15) Major, with scores of 73-70-71. From there it was off to the races, not finishing outside of the top two until May. The summer began and Zhou wanted to test his luck against some of the best amateur players in the state at the 69th Boys’ Junior Championship. His eighth-place finish after being the youngest player in the field, gave him the confidence he needed to begin competing in the older Boys’ Division. He won his first Boys (16-18) event at the FJT New Smyrna Open in August.

GIRLS’ JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR - CHLOE KOVELESKY In 2023, Chloe Kovelesky made her mark against the best women golfers in the state. Kovelesky captured the victory at the 94th Women’s Amateur Championship, becoming the youngest player ever to win the prestigious event. After earning the No. 1 seed, Kovelesky defeated Victoria Zheng, 4 and 3, in the championship match to win her second FSGA championship and her first Women’s Amateur title. Not only did she win, but she beat some big names on her way to winning, notably Katelyn Huber and Jordan Fischer, who later became the first amateur to win the Women’s Florida Open. Shortly after that, she announced her verbal commitment to Wake Forest University, where she will be attending starting the fall of 2025.

Small serves the game off the course as a member of the FSGA Board of Directors. In 2010, Small moved to Southeast Florida and was introduced to the FSGA Tournament Chairman in the area, Mallory Privett, at a Rules of Golf Workshop in 2011.
