Tony and Maria are teenagers from opposing gangs who fall in love, but a deep rivalry threatens to keep them apart.

The musical runs through Dec. 15 in the Historic Arcade Theatre, 2268 Bay St., Fort Myers. Tickets start at $55 and are available online at www.FloridaRep.org or 239-332-4488. ¦

FORT MYERS, Fla. — It may be more than six decades old, but this classic take on Romeo and Juliet is anything but vintage.

“West Side Story,” now taking center stage at the Florida Repertory Theatre, is arguably the most ambitious show the theater company has ever staged.

For many of the performers, this production is a special one — it’s the first time setting foot on stage since the start of the pandemic.
