NEWS OF FLORIDA FAIRS Pasco County Fair
The Pasco County Fair Association Board of Directors recently returned from the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention in Orlando. 11 board members attended along with the fair's office manager. Paul Blommel, husband of director Donna Blommel attended the convention with Donna and is responsible for making the wooden cut-out of the state of Florida with many of the Florida Cattle Rancher's Cattle Brands. The cut-out was a BIG hit at the President's Party Live Auction. The hand-crafted cutout sold for $1,700.00 and was purchased by the St. Lucie County Fair Association. The wooden cutout will hang in the St. Lucie County Fair Association's Office.
The Pasco County Fair Board of Directors also enjoyed a tasty seafood dinner at Landry's Seafood House with their midway provider Matt McDonagh owner of Big Rock Amusements on Friday night of the convention. Big Rock Amusement was the sponsor of the Photo Ops at the Present's Party and Gala at this year’s convention, as well.

The Annual Fair Committee is currently working on and negotiating entertainment contracts for the 2024 Pasco County Fair. Committee members Tracy J. Thompson, Mary Beth Lumbra, Jim Ward, Elaine Enfield, and Wayne Howard put in a lot of hours trying to bring the BEST of the BEST to the fair annually. The entertainment line-up will be announced in the Fall. The 77th Annual Pasco County Fair runs February 19 - 25, 2024. A new livestock barn is currently in the works to replace the current aging barn on the fairgrounds. The new barn project is slated to be finished just in time for the 2024 fair and will house the Youth Beef and Swine Shows as well as the sales, according to Fair President, Kevin Corrigan. The new barn project was made possible by the State of Florida funding projects.
