LGBTQ+ Affairs Celebrates Black History Month Where: LGBTQ+ Affairs, located at the Reitz Union Room 2210 When: Twice a week throughout February at 1 p.m. What: LGBTQ+ Affairs will showcase films that depict black queerness such as “I Am Not Your Negro,” “Moonlight,” “Brother Outsider” and “Paris is Burning.” Trigger and content warnings will be placed throughout the viewing area. Event run times may vary.

Chef Empowerment’s Black History Month Pop-Up Restaurant Where: Working Food, located at 219 N.W. 10th Ave. When: Feb. 28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. What: Chef Empowerment’s Underground Kitchen partners with Working Food to host an allyou-can-eat Southern buffet in collaboration with local black-owned businesses. Tickets are $20. African American Studies 50th Anniversary Where: Smathers Library Room 110/Turlington Plaza When: Feb. 20-21, times vary What: Two different events will be held for the 50th anniversary of UF’s African American Studies program. The first will be the Ronald Foreman Symposium Thursday, Feb. 20 with a reception beginning at 8 a.m. The symposium will feature three main panels — academic, community and alumni and student — and will also feature an IBC film screening and a book exhibition. The second day of the event on Friday, Feb. 21 will feature a tour and breakfast at the African American Studies offices, unveiling a historical marker at Turlington Plaza and a reception at the Friends of Music Room. Both events are free to attend.

What: Glory Days and WRLD Entertainment present YBN Cordae, a former XXL “Freshman Class” cover star with more than five million monthly listeners on Spotify. The Wall Street Journal has dubbed Cordae “one of music’s most prominent rising stars.” Cordae is supported by Californiaborn rapper 24kGoldn. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show. Must be 18 or over unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A $3 cover charge is required for those under 21.

Florida Political History Live Where: Smathers Library East, located at 1508 Union Road When: Feb. 19 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. What: Former U.S. senator and Florida governor Bob Graham and former U.S senator Bill Nelson will speak in the third program for the Nelson Initiative on Ethics and Leadership at UF. Nelson and Graham will discuss current political topics and Florida’s political history. The event is free to attend.

John Allan Miller, Corben Champoux, Mark Gaignard and Hannah May Allison Where: High Dive, located at 210 S.W. Second St. When: Feb. 20 and Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. What: John Allan Miller is a Nashville country artist fresh off the release of his latest album, “Bad Day to Be a Beer.” Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of show.
