The Iturbi Prize has been hosted by Diputació de València since its foundation back in 1981. The competition takes place in some of the main concert halls of the city during the month of June. It is named after the piano virtuoso José Iturbi (1895-1980) who developed an outstanding career in the first half of the 20th century.
