After 50 years and 20 competitions, the Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition has announced that the 2022 competition, which has been held in August and was won by Canadian young pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (First Prize, Chamber Music Special Prize and Audience Award), will be the last one. From now on, the Competition Founder and President, Mrs. Paloma O'Shea, will focus on other music projects she has also founded: the Reina Sofía School of Music and the International Institute of Chamber Music, both based in Madrid, as well as the Encounter of Music and Academy that takes place every month of July in Santander.
The World Federation of International Music Competition would like to sincerely thank its long-time member, the Paloma O´Shea Santander International Piano Competition, for all its contributions during 47 years of membership.
