The International Jeunesses Musicales Competition has been held annually in Belgrade since 1971. The Competition is dedicated to young music artists to start their professional careers, and in front of an authoritative international jury, weigh their value, level of creativity, technical ability. The Competition has been held for more than four decades in various solo and chamber disciplines and it was attended by over 2,000 soloists and over 200 chamber ensembles. Participants came from all continents, and from over 70 countries worldwide. Patron of the competition is the City of Belgrade, making it officially one of the few manifestations of exceptional importance for the city of Belgrade and for Serbia as a whole.
