Once the pocket activity determined, the growth pole is created. Thus the pockets replication along the street will give rippling effect activities that will liven up the whole street as we called it “Urban Ripple” Moreover, the effect will also spread throughout the whole city of Moscow.

Barrier free design by using tactile pavement for the blind and minimizing pedestrian leveling

SHARED SURFACE Reborn to be pedestrian friendly street,the shared surface will enlarged pedestrian area whereas vehicle can also use it sometimes. By covering the junctions with shared surface, vehicle will automatically reduce their speed and resprect the pedestrian.

The reduction of vehicle’s lane and street transformation into undulating structure will calm the vehicles traffic over the street. Yet, it connects the surroundings area as the existing condition.

ACTIVITY POCKET PAVEMENT As the center of activities on the street, the pockets constructed of squared andesite stone (100x100 mm). The material is chosen for safety reason as the space will accomodate various activities from various range of ages.

PEDESTRIAN PATH

Pedestrian are classified into two: the straight lane fordiffable people and winding lane for accessing the pockets. Since Tverskaya Street only consists of few junctions, pedestrian crossings created perpendicularly to the pockets.

BICYCLE LANE PAVEMENT Also functioned as technical pavement, the bicycle line constructed of andesite stone (150x250 mm).

It intends to distinct the path visually from others and ease access to install street utilities with various sizes such as lighting poles, bollards, etc.

Shared surface along this part of street can be used as temporary spaces where peoplecan bring their goods to sell ove the weekend and any city events.

Modular limestone (100x200 mm) are used for sidewalk and shared surface to bring clear, vivid and spacious ambiance for pedestrians as well as vehicles upon it. This material is also used for ground pedestrian-crossing to calm the vehicles’ speed around it.

Activity pocket in Tverskaya Street mostly used as an extension of cultural building aside. It can be used as stages for street performances.
