The Toscana® breeding program
Breeding is a long-term process that requires dedication and patience. After careful selection, we are proud to present the following novelties.
We have updated the Trend series by improving Trend Hanna hot pink and introducing Trend Tine salmon.
In the important Smart series, we present Smart Valerie dark red next to the very popular Smart Senna Red. With the attractive dark red colour, Valerie completes the Smart series.
As amethyst is traditionally a difficult colour to breed, we are very pleased to introduce the improved Sunflair Amy. This variety fits better in terms of plant habit within the Sunflair series. The ‘old’ Amy will be moved to the Big5 ® series as Big5 ® Amethyst.
With the new Medio Fleur lavender, we aim to replace the well-known Medio Teske. For the coming season, both varieties will be available side by side.
In the Villetta series, we launch a new compact variety: Villetta Lilac a very attractive, well-branching addition.
Last but not least, we have updated Balcon Polar. The improved version shows stronger vigour, fits better within the Balcon range, and offers improved branching and earlier flowering.
Optimising the Toscana ® Pelargonium series remains the goal, and step by step we are making good progress.

About the Toscana® production
Toscana® is available as unrooted cuttings (URC) and as young plants. At our production locations in Ethiopia and Kenya we specialize in the URC production of Pelargonium. With a total of 37 hectares of well-equipped greenhouses, which are run by qualified and experienced staff, we supply from both locations a high production standard. This gives you the best quality against the lowest risk in supply change.
Moreover, we think and act sustainably. Our production locations are MPS-A certified (Environmental Programme for Ornamental Horticulture), covering crop protection products, fertilisers, energy, water and waste. Neonicotinoids are banned and to combat the negative effects of crop protection products, we use organic variants and work with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) wherever possible.
