is a big number. It's exactly how many months we have in a year and it’s symbolic of these past twelve months. To think how different life was 12 months ago. The fear of when all the havoc would end, the hope for a better future, and to hug our loved ones once again. A lot of people felt the same way and it was a testament to how this past summer’s FLLFW 2021 show went. Big smiles without a worry, hugging, and conversations in person again, as the host of the show, it was an amazing experience to share the stage with some of the best designers FLLFW has seen to date. We had laughs, tears, and every good emotion in between celebrating fashion and expression of style together. This issue represents a new kind of “normal” to all of us. The importance of “self-care” and what it means to each person can be very personal as Aline Lowry mentions in our Cover Story. She and I had a conversation as I was here in Fort Lauderdale and she was below the Equator in Minas Gerais, Brazil yet still able to talk as though we were in the same room. My husband is from Brazil and I appreciate Aline’s authenticity to her culture and her first home. Never let others tell you your dreams can’t be achieved, stay consistent, be authentic, & people will trust you and follow your journey. We can understand that theory because that is why Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week Magazine is here, Because of You. Your continued support in the arts and fashion with a company like us is what keeps all of our dreams alive. 7 years ago Florentina gave me ( a 23-year-old fashion college graduate) an opportunity to start small but dream big, and this is why she gave me the greatest gift of all, she believed in me. Her vision and passion are what keeps this circus alive and it has changed so many lives. This is just the beginning of so much more to come.
As you read through this FLLFW Magazine Issue 12 remind yourself to take in the little moments this Holiday season. The laughs, the smiles, and that “together” feeling again. Like it was once said, “I have learned that there is more power in a good strong hug than in a thousand meaningful words. ” So clink those glasses, celebrate life, and take in the moments with a little more gratitude as this year comes to a close. Remember that today is the youngest we'll all ever be for the rest of our lives, So live it up!
