For the first time in classics history, the Virginia Junior Classical League convention was held online! This year we had a blast with all the activities and events hosted by the wonderful VJCL staff.

Here is our Parlamentarian, Erik McCray's experience in virtual VJCL convention.

5:40 am. It's dark on a frigid November Saturday morning. Usually I would be standing outside my school ready to get on a coach bus, but instead I am sleeping. At around 9:00-10:00 a.m. I would usually be cheering at the General Assembly; but instead, I am eating cereal in my pajamas. It's roughly 8:00 p.m. and the last testing session of the day. Instead of sitting there waiting through the coughs after finishing my test, I was able to click off and go to fellowship where I presented the candidates for office to the delegation. Sunday went very similarly. We even saw two Flint Hill Officers get elected to the VJCL executive board. Flint Hill came in 1st for publications, best club t-shirt, publicity, best article. Flint Hill students collectively placed 1st in 8 academic tests, with 50 other top 5 placings, and 72 other top 10 placings. Flint Hill Students were also very creative; where they received 16 total honors, with 3 being of highest honor. They also created beautiful graphic arts projects with one winning summa cum laude.

This year, we had two Flint Hill Classics Club officers win their elections to become official VJCL Executive Board officers!
