Metropolitan Students guide to University

For most students the study workload involves a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials, laboratory or practical classes, fieldwork or work placements, and the all-important time for individual study. The number of academic sessions, for example lectures or tutorials, will vary according to your subjects. For the remainder of the time you will be expected to study independently. All students need to organise their time efficiently and develop good study habits. For additional details on what it is like to study at Flinders please look in our 2009 Undergraduate Course and Pocket guide.

WHY STUDY AT FLINDERS? •

In addition in a recent survey of employers our graduates rated more highly than those from other universities in 16 out of 17 graduate attributes surveyed. Flinders has long been recognised as South Australia’s leading University in providing innovative learning and teaching. In 2006 and 2004 we won The Prime Minister’s Australian University Teacher of the Year Award.
