Mention Aston Martin, and car enthusiasts immediately thinks of James Bond movies and the Formula One team of the same name. The famous British automotive brand has many stings in its bow, from creating desirable and statement making sports cars to success on theracecircuitsallovertheworld
At the 21st edition of Autostyle + Design event on 24/25 October at Villa Schiarino Lena in Porto Mantovano (MN), Italy, Marek Reichman, Executive VicePresident & Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin, headquartered at Gaydon, Warwickshire, linked the brand’s sports car and motorsport lines from the past with the present in developing the most recent Vanquish model that carries on the tradition of attractive design, high quality,performanceandluxury.
As Marek stated in his presentation, “the Vanquish combines advanced technical solutions with quality materials and elegant interiors, bringing together heritage and innovation. Vanquishisoneofthegreatestnamesintheworldofsportscars,muchsoughtafter”.
Indetailingthehistoryoficoniccarsthatforgedtheinspirationforcurrentandfuturemodels, he cited the DBR1 from Le Mans from the 1950s, the most famous James Bond car of all, the DB5andtheDB10,whichhadonlyteneditionsproduced.

The new Ferrari 12-Cilindri (Cylinder) coupè featured prominently at the front of the Villa SchiarinoLena,forthe21steditionofAutostyle+DesignEditioninPortoMantovano(MN),Italy
The stunning new mid front-mounted naturally-aspirated V12 two-seat GT, one of favourite projects that Flavio Manzoni, Architect & Designer, Ferrari Design Director and his team at the Ferrari Styling Centre worked on, recently won the title of ‘Luxury Car of the Year’ in The MotorAwards2024intheUK.
Intricatedetailsofthenewadditiontothe ‘PracingHorse’familywereexplainedand introduced as “the latest incarnation of animportantandiconicmodellinewhich can trace its lineage as a 2-seat frontengined V12 all the way back to the very beginnings of Ferrari in 1947,” by Flavio at the Autostyle + Design Edition Workshop XXIpresentationsatthetwo-dayevent. The development involved a totally new approachwithafocusonthefuture,with alittlenodonthepast.
From the space age glazed front light panel to the vertical tail-lights, and everything surrounding them, the 12 Cylinder is unique. It also features front-hinged bonnet over the enginebay,andalsotwotwintailpipesthathavebecomeasignatureofFerrari’s12-cylinder cars
TheFerrari12-CilindriisinspiredbythelegendaryGrandTourersofthe1950sand‘60s,andas mentioned by Sergio Chierici, Motor1com, (like Fleet Car, Autostyle media partners) during the event, “The new 12-cylinder GT is characterized by an innovative design and organic detailsinspiredbysciencefiction,withaminimalistfrontandheadlightshiddenbythedark front band; the car, with a delta tail and interiors that evoke the Monza, and offers an immersive environment for driver and passenger: in this new design evolution, abstract geometric concepts combine with fluid shapes from Ferrari’s history, to create something trulyorientedtowardsthefuture”.
The design of the Ferrari 12-Cilindri’s interior sees it split into three different levels: the first, dominated by the upper part of the piano black dash, continues around to blend into the door panel trim Next is the central area while the third includes the footwells and seats Eachlevelisclearlydefined,heighteningthedual-cockpit‘cocoon’effectthroughthecolour and material combinations. These are used to create either an elegant or sporty look along with other features, such as the digital dash and touchscreen, and multi-function steering wheel
The Ferrari 12-Cilindri’s engine is the latest development of the iconic V12 that laid the foundations for the Maranello legend, in this version unleashing 830 hp and with maximum revs rising to a heady 9,500 rpm. The impressive power curve ensures 80 percent of total torqueisalreadyavailableatjust2,500rpm.
