Bingo

We, the Board of Directors, would like to thank all who attended the meeting on August 17th. We appreciate the feedback we received and will follow up on the wildlife issues with the Park Management Team. Also Park Management has confirmed that, all projects will be completed but did not give a time frame.

Bingo will be starting on Tuesday September 15th at 6:45 pm and will continue every Tuesday until further notice. Please come, join us. If you have trouble keeping up, bring a Highlighter Pen and someone will help you.

This year we will be playing a “Winner Take All” which could be a really nice money pot depending on the number of players. Come out and join us, you might enjoy yourself.

Please be cautious on the roads in the park.

The pot holes cannot be repaired until the rain stops and the ground dries up. Please drive around the pot holes and damaged parts of the roadway.

The General Meeting of the Association, which is normally held on the first Monday of the month will be held on the second Monday in September, the 14th due to Labor Day being on the first Monday. Eric Parker Scheduled Events for 2015 Labor Day Cook Out!!! FREE September 7th 3pm at the pool. Bring your food to grill, a dish to share, and your choice of beverage.

Pot Luck Dinner and Dance - music by Bittersweet. Saturday September 26th dinner at 6pm, dance 7pm. The theme is International. Bring a dish from your heritage to share. Tickets are $7.00 get them from Judy, Connie or Susan. There will be door prizes. I know the Snow Birds will be coming back, hope to see you there.

FLU SHOTS Walgreens will again be coming to Grand Valley to provide flu shots, high dose flu shots and pneumonia shots on Tuesday, November 10th at 10am. Shingle shots will be available with prior notice. A sign-up sheet is in the clubhouse to give Walgreens a count so they have enough immunizations. You’ll need a picture ID and your insurance cards. The flu shot is paid for by Medicare.

Ladies Lunch We had a wonderful lunch at the Lucky Dill Restaurant This month’s lunch will be at the Tarpon Turtle on September 8th at 1:00pm, which is located on Lake Tarpon in Tarpon Springs. Hope everyone will try to attend.

Lunch is fun and a great way to meet your neighbors. I hope all new residents will try to join us. If anyone needs a ride please call me.

Men’s Lunch The Men’s Luncheon will be on September 8th at 12:30 at the Varsity Club, 3523 Little Road, New Port Richey. There is a sign-up sheet in the clubhouse. Red Hats RED HAT LADIES Tickets are going faster than expected and some of the ladies want me to send the money in so they don't miss out for the Show Palace. The date is Dec. 3rd, $48.00 that includes show, buffet and prizes. I need to collect the money before September 30th. Please get your money to me as I will be leaving Oct 2 for work and want to send it off. There is a rumor circulating around Grand Valley that certain parties are contemplating (or have already started) putting down antifreeze in an attempt to poison stray and/or feral cats. This is also very dangerous for any domestic pets.

Animals die an excruciating death through ingesting this poison .The Pasco County Animal Control authorities have stated that such an action is a criminal offence and is deemed to be a felony and punishable by prosecution and possible jail time.

Don Pickles and Family We wish to thank all our friends and neighbors for their cards, phone calls and expressions of sympathy at the passing of my sister and the restoration to good health of our son-in-law in his battle to overcome the multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer). Your prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated and please keep them coming.

We will be arriving back in Grand Valley later than usual, as we will be helping our daughter and her family with the transition back to the school year and the continued chemotherapy and stem cell transplant treatment for our son in law.

Thick ‘N Thin Our group will start up on September 1st and will meet every Tuesday morning from 11 – 12 at the clubhouse to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle. We begin with a short meeting where we share ideas, stories, recipes and more. Then, if weight loss is your goal, a scale is provided for a private weighin. This is then followed by a period of exercise using the TV and DVD player. Come join us for an hour of good information and great fun. After exercise class there will be a quiet period of meditation to music. For more info call Carol McKenna 645-6185

Changes to Florida Statute 723 (Continued from last month) Amendment to Bylaws or Articles of Incorporation Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, if an amendment to the articles of incorporation or the bylaws is required by any action of any federal, state, or local governmental authority or agency, or any law, ordinance, or rule thereof, the board of directors may, by a majority vote of the board, at a duly noticed meeting of the board, amend the articles of incorporation or bylaws without a vote of the membership.

Association Records The association shall maintain the following items, when applicable, which constitute the official records of the association: (a) A copy of the association’s articles of incorporation and each amendment to the articles of incorporation. (b) A copy of the bylaws of the association and each amendment to the bylaws. (c) A copy of the written rules or policies of the association and each amendment to the written rules or policies. (d) The approved minutes of all meetings of the members, the board of directors, and committees of the board, which minutes must be retained within the state for at least 7 years. (e) A current roster of all members and their mailing addresses and lot identifications. (f) All of the association’s insurance policies or copies thereof, which must be retained for at least 7 years. (g) A copy of all contracts or agreements to which the association is a party, including, without limitation, any written agreements with the park owner, lease, or other agreements or contracts under which the association or its members have any obligation or responsibility, which must be retained for at least 7 years.

The financial and accounting records must include: 1. Accurate, itemized, and detailed records of all receipts and expenditures.

2. A current account and a periodic statement of the account for each member, designating the name and current address of each member who is obligated to pay dues or assessments, the due date and amount of each assessment or other charge against the member, the date and amount of each payment on the account, and the balance due.

3. All tax returns, financial statements, and financial reports of the association.

4. Any other records that identify, measure, record, or communicate financial information. (i) All other written records of the association not specifically included in the foregoing which are related to the operation of the association.

(5) The official records shall be maintained within the state for at least 7 years

Pasco County Recycle Program Change The Recycling and Education Department of Pasco County is committed to reducing the waste stream through recycling and reuse, encouraging environmental stewardship, and providing information and presentations to educate citizens about recycling and the benefits of waste reduction.
