A Reminder for the Upcoming November 3, 2014 Election of Directors Please check the line beside the name of the candidate(s) you would like to see elected to the Board of Directors. You can vote for up to (4) four candidates. A valid ballot is one that is properly marked. Any ballot not marked correctly, or contains votes for more candidates than positions available, hand written additives, or any part of said ballot is not legible will be INVALID. This will be at the sole determination of the election committee. If you vote for a candidate by mistake DO NOT cross off the candidate’s name. Take the ballot that is marked wrong back to the registration desk, turn it in, and you will be given a new ballot. Any resident that needs a limited proxy to vote because they won’t be here for the November election can contact Peggy Madison, Secretary, at 807-7525 and she will be glad to get one to you. Sign and date your limited proxy and vote for 1, 2, 3 or 4 candidate(s) of your choice on the ballot. (DO NOT vote for more than 4 names on the ballot.) Return the limited proxy ballot and ballot to Peggy Madison, put it in the locked box in the clubhouse by 5 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2014, or give it to a member of the election committee. Be sure to sign the back of the envelope. We urge all members to attend the meeting or obtain a proxy so we can have a quorum which is needed to go forward with the election. The proxies will be available after the October 6, 2014 meeting.

Help Reduce Printing Costs Email me @ walda@ tampabay.rr.com to be added to those who get the Grapevine via their email. Printing costs are going up - and the only way we can reduce the cost of printing the Grapevine is by having more people get it online instead of a printed copy. You can help by electing to get the Grapevine via your email. Give it a try - what have you got to lose? For previous issues of the Grapevine, email me at walda@tampabay.rr.com and I will send you one. I have a copy of all the Grapevines that I have done saved on my computer. Flu Shots Friday November 7th from 10 AM to 12 PM flu, pneumonia and shingle shots will once again be available in the clubhouse. Bring your Medicare and/or other insurance cards plus an ID. Thank You We would like to thank our friends at Grand Valley for the thoughtful get well cards during this time that Jack has been undergoing chemo infusion treatments in Buffalo, NY for 4th stage cancer. He is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. We are still receiving get well wishes from our Grand Valley friends. In spite of it all we know we are in God's hands and accepting what is yet to come. Some prayers have been answered. Hopefully we will return if all goes well with Jack's condition. We do not know how much longer he has to keep getting the chemo infusion treatments. We are asking for prayers from everyone! (We celebrated our 63rd wedding anniversary on August 25!) Again, thank you loads! Jack and Charlotte Napierski 716-668-0007 Thank You I want to thank all of you for the phone calls, cards, and visits to the hospital. I also want to thank Mary Grimm for taking me to the emergency room two times and staying with me, and thanks to Donna Parker for bringing me home from the hospital. We need to show more sympathy for these people. They travel miles in the heat. They risk their lives crossing a border. They don't get paid enough wages. They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do. They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language. They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans, etc. ~ I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that so many are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops? Wouldn't it be great if we took some of the $360,000,000,000 (that's billion) we spend on illegals every year, and spent it on our troops!!! A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life wrote a blank check payable to The United States of America for any amount, up to and including their life.
