From The President I would like to thank my board and everyone who has sponsored an activity or volunteered in any way to make Grand Valley a fun place to live.

The General meeting May 6th will be the last before the summer recess. The park is not shutting down for the summer. Thanks to all the wonderful people serving on our new social committee, there are plenty of activities planned. Check out the Grapevine and the bulletin board posted at the clubhouse.

The next General Meeting will be September 9th, 2013.

Donate Used Eyeglasses Please donate any of your old eyeglasses by placing them in the box on our library table.

Kaffee Klatch Join us for coffee and donuts every third Saturday of each month beginning May 18th at 10 AM. Cost is $2.00.

Memorial Day Cookout Come celebrate Memorial Day with friends and neighbors. There will be NO CHARGE, but you must have a ticket.

Tickets will be available from Connie Coté in the office beginning May 1st. Cut off date for tickets is 5/22. The GVHOA will provide watermelons, buns and dessert. We will eat in the clubhouse, and then enjoy the pool, and inside and outside games and activities.

BYOB, your choice of meat to cook, and a dish to share.

Texas Hold ‘Em Mark your calendar. On Tuesday, 6/4 and Thursday 6/6 at 1 PM, in the clubhouse, there will be tutoring sessions. There will be a short “refresher” course at 12:30 PM with the tournament following at 1 PM. The BuyIn is $10.00 for 100 chips. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Recycle Aluminum Cans Can Tabs for Shriners Hospital Shriners Hospitals is a network of 22 children’s hospitals throughout North America.

Shriners Hospitals are specialty hospitals, treating children’s orthopedic problems, cleft lip and palate, spinal cord injuries and severe burn injuries. All services are provided regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.

Keeping TABS is a fun way to help the children and at the same time promote recycling. AND THE WINNERS ARE THE CHILDREN! Please continue to turn your tabs in to Al Krueger at 8045 Monitor or to Connie in the office.

Recycle your aluminum cans by placing them in the “Blue Bags” on scheduled recycle days. In May it is the 10th and the 24th. Please note that cans may no longer be brought to the clubhouse.

Thank You

Ladies Lunch

A big thank you to all that helped with the Military fund raiser on April 6th it was a big success and we raised enough money to send boxes for several months. Thanks to Grand Valley for supporting this very important cause.

We need to support our men and women overseas fighting for our freedom. The next fundraiser will be November 2, 2013 see you then. Verlie Pickles and Pat Blake !

I want to thank everyone who attended the Luncheon at Kally K’s. We had about 33 ladies, some did go to the Internet cafe after lunch and had a lot of fun. Our next lunch will be at the Olive Garden on Rt 19 . at 1 o'clock on May 14th. We will miss our snow birds that leave by then. Olive Garden has a new lunch menu, looks great on TV. If anyone needs a ride contact me.

Red Hat Ladies I want to wish all the Northern gals a safe trip and a great summer. Also want to thank all the ladies that signed up for the Christmas Play. We had 14 ladies. Money was sent 4/17/2013; it should be a great time.

THE FINAL INSPECTION The Marine stood and faced God, which must always come to pass.
