Printing Tips for the Grapevine If you want to print a copy of the Grapevine, to conserve ink or toner, don’t print the ads! When you click “print” on your computer, you should have the option of selecting which pages you want to print.

Select only the page numbers that you want to print, and save some ink or toner.

From the Editor Walda Pagucci Any information for the Grapevine is due no later than the 20th of the month. No exceptions will be made. There is a mailbox outside my front door for any items that are to be included in the Grapevine. I still need input from street captains. Please keep in mind that I am not aware of many of the events and activities that are planned that should go on the calendar.

Even if you have given the information to Connie, please make certain that I get it as well. I really need everyone’s help so that everything that should be in our newsletter gets in there. Please email me, call me at 264-7773, or use the mailbox outside my front door to submit anything that you want to be, or should be, included in either the Grapevine and/or the calendar.

Please sign your name and leave your phone number in case I have any questions about your submission. Really, I don’t bite.

Our Troops

Donate Used Eyeglasses

Times are tough, but please don’t forget our troops – they deserve all the support we can give them. Keep your donations coming. See the box in the clubhouse. Any money donations are to be given to Sis Pickles or Pat Blake for postage.

Please donate any of your old eyeglasses by placing them in the box on our library table.

Kaffee Klatch Join us for coffee and donuts every third Saturday of each month beginning May 18th at 10 AM. Cost is $2.00.

Texas Hold ‘Em On Tuesday, 6/4 and Thursday 6/6 at 1 PM, in the clubhouse, there will be tutoring sessions. There will be a short “refresher” course at 12:30 PM with the tournament following at 1 PM. The Buy-In is $10.00 for 100 chips. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place.

Cabo Latinos NOTICE Anyone who got food from the clubhouse, please consider a donation to Pat or Sis for the military boxes. Thank you.

Cabo Latinos dance Saturday, June 8 from 6 to 11 PM. DJ Tony Britto and a Cape Verdean band. Tickets are $7.00 per person and are available from Stephanie Correia 236-8011.

Can Tabs for Shriners Hospital Shriners Hospitals is a network of 22 children’s hospitals throughout North America.

Shriners Hospitals are specialty hospitals, treating children’s orthopedic problems, cleft lip and palate, spinal cord injuries and severe burn injuries. All services are provided regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.

Keeping TABS is a fun way to help the children and at the same time promote recycling. AND THE WINNERS ARE THE CHILDREN! Please continue to turn your tabs in to Al Krueger at 8045 Monitor or to Connie in the office.

Men’s Wednesday Night Poker Canceled Until the Fall Straight poker is canceled until the fall. For info, call John @ 727-264-7773.

Recycle Aluminum Cans Recycle your aluminum cans by placing them in the “Blue Bags” on scheduled recycle days. In June it is the 14th and the 28th. Please note that cans may no longer be brought to the clubhouse.

Doggie Parade/Show The Doggie Parade/Show held on April 28 benefiting the SPCA on Congress was a huge success. We collected $35.00 in cash from soda sales and also had so many donations of pet food, litter and miscellaneous items that the representative, Clara, from SPCA, filled her van completely. All pet participants got a prize for entering and their parents got a free hot dog. Thanks to the GVHOA Board for donating the food. The largest dog winner was Isis (owner Alan Goldarbit), smallest was Oreo (owners Gene & Dottie Brooks), best costume was Maggie (owner Beverly Murphy) and the most personality was Otis (owner Mary Jane Sellers). Otis was also our kissing booth dog; he earned his quarters for sure. Thank you all for helping and hopefully we can get some forever homes for our four legged pals. Wendy Adams

The “Chef’s” menu includes baby back ribs, beans, potato salad, cole slaw and dessert. Tickets will be $7.00 per person, and will be available from 6/3 until 6/28 from Gene Brooks or Connie Coté. ABSOLUTELY NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. There will be a 50/50 and a game or two. You’ll still have plenty of time to go home and rest up in time to check out the Port Richey Fireworks Show beginning at 9pm.

Scrapbooking/Cardmaking We’re still scrapping/cardmaking at 1 p.m.

Wednesdays in the clubhouse. Bring your photos and paper supplies. All crafters welcome. Bring small (manicure) scissors, cutting board and an exacto knife. Questions?

Identity Theft???

Last year someone filed a Tax Return under my Social Security Number, and this year they have done it to my husbands Tax Return.

I wonder if it’s the same one that tried to take my Social Security check.

Last year Connie did say that it happened to someone else in the community.

Below is a form letter that I received from Social Security. You just can’t trust anyone anymore.

KAFFEE KLATCH A great time was had by all who attended our first Kaffee Klatch.

There was plenty of coffee, donuts and even a cake to celebrate all the May birthdays and anniversaries. Kaffee Klatch will happen every 3rd Saturday and we hope you’ll all come out an join us next time.
