On December 21 , 2015 the membership approved that the percentage of membership that is required to constitute a quorum, would be 30%, in accordance with the requirement set forth in Florida Statute 723. With the current membership at 135 we now only need 41 members in good standing to create a quorum and 21 votes to pass a motion. I’m making this point to make everyone aware of how important it is for all of us to take an interest in what is going on in our community. We all have a voice, but if you do not pay your dues and come to meetings that voice becomes mute. Who knows, maybe if you have something to say it will affect how other members think, because once a vote is taken on an issue or motion, whether it passes or fails, if you were not there, the choice is out of your hands entirely and you may not care for the result of that vote. Meetings are only once a month and last between one half and one hour. Is it really an inconvenience to come, meet with friends and neighbors, maybe even meet new neighbors, listen to what is happening in our community? Use your voice to make this a wonderful “ACTIVE ADULT COMMUNITY”. Respectfully submitted, Jeanne Cellini President, GVHA

2016 RULES OF ORDER STATEMENT We have heard from so many people that they will not attend Board or General meetings because of the arguments that go on. So in an effort to change the atmosphere of these meetings going forward we, the Board, ask that you not bring personal issues to these meetings. If you have a personal issue or problem with any person or persons, you must resolve them outside of the Board meetings. All issues or suggestions that benefit or affect all park residents will be gladly heard at Board and General meetings. Once the meeting has been opened to the floor, ask to be recognized to speak by raising your hand. Once speaking, please state your issue in a conversational tone. Please remember everyone is entitled to an opinion and every one’s opinions will not be the same. We must listen without interruption when the person who has the floor is speaking. If you have an opposing opinion or comment, ask to be recognized and calmly state your remarks. Finally, think about all that is said, both pros and cons, and know that when or if a vote is taken the majority rules. Please remember this Board and any other committees are administered by volunteers and as such should be treated with respect. When we attend events, we are there to enjoy said event. Please do not corner us with park issues or problems. In our oath of office #7 states “never exercise authority as a Board member except when acting at a meeting with the full Board or as I am delegated by the board”. In order to fulfill this obligation we must not deal with things outside of official meetings. We thank you in advance for adhering to this process. We are looking forward to participating in calmer and more productive meetings. The Board of Directors
