DISTRAUGHT SENIOR CITIZEN
A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor’s office. “Is it true that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?” “Yes, I’m afraid so,” the doctor told her. There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, “Just how serious is my condition? This prescription is marked “NO REFILLS.”
As you all know we have a couple of Southfork groups on Facebook and would like to describe each and a new group was just added. All the groups are a closed group which means no one outside of Southfork can view or post any info. Welcome all Southfork!
(Southfork Dade City MarketPlace) is the newest group. For the selling and buying and borrowing of Household Items, Items need to buy, Loaners for (Wheel Chairs, Walkers, Canes or anything to help someone in despair), Handmade Items for sale, Household help such as (house cleaning, yard work needed etc). You can list known yard sales in the area, estate sales and these are just a few to mention. Whatever you want and don’t know where to buy or loan this is our own community post for all .
(You know you are from Southfork when) This is our way of communicating between each newsletter and a chat group. It’s a place where we keep everyone updated on current events here in the park. Management also uses this group and also the mass emailing for any important items they want everyone to know about and some examples are water shutoffs or any closings, or anything pertaining to the park. That is the reason I ask for all email addresses and use it for “Southfork” only. When anyone passes away I also use this to inform all.
(Southfork, Fl growing up) This was made for all who like to remember growing up and reliving all the old time memories. From early childhood to teens and what we liked and that includes games, food you ate, school years and so much more. Takes you mind off today’s world and takes us back to our growing up years.
You can search in facebook for each of these groups and click to join and you will be added in. Again just community residents can join these groups. Any questions send me a message at pkaygrossi@aim.com or give me a call at 352-567-6105

RECYCLING UPDATE
Glass is no longer accepted in Southforks Recycling Collections on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Just toss your recyclables into one empty bin and see the list below of what can be recycled! Trash haulers have a 90-day transition period to implement any schedule change. Since there is no resale market for recycled glass in Florida, and broken glass contaminates the recycling stream – glass will no longer be accepted in our recycling program. Please toss your glass in the trash bin where it will be sent to Pasco’s Waste-To-Energy facility, leaving even less of a carbon footprint than it would in a landfill. “This increase in service is a reflection of Pasco County’s commitment to future sustainability and to our citizens,” said Solid Waste Director John Power. “Though removing glass may seem counter-intuitive, it increases the overall reuse of collected materials, eases processing and maximizes our positive environmental impact.”
YOU CAN RECYCLE: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Aluminum Cans Cardboard Paper Plastic Bottles and small containers Metal food cans
YOU CANNOT RECYCLE ITEMS LISTED BELOW:
No Plastic Bags, No Glass, No Styrofoam,
No Milk or Juice Cartons, Nothing Wet & Dirty
Newsletter Deliveries (Help Needed)
It has come to our attention that we need more people to help deliver the newsletter to every house here in Southfork. Craig Whitbeck, summer Block Captain chairperson, states we are in “DESPERATE” need for a Block Captain and an alternate co-captain on Mesquite Dr. ASAP. More alternate backups are needed for Brahman, Ewing and Maverick and possibly a few other streets as well for the deliveries of the Newsletters, Phone Directories and any other information given for delivery to reach every resident. So for every Street here in Southfork we need a “ Block Captain” and an “Alternate” in case the Block Captain is not available. Coverage is especially needed when any of the Block Captains are Snowbirds or in case of illness…………..So if you have a friend who like’s to walk, this venture should take no more the 15 minutes to a half hour every month and it will also give you a chance to get in some exercise. (smile) We need every street covered so please contact Craig Whitbeck at 352-457-0997 and let him know you are available to help. Note…..you do not have to live on the same street as delivery so please, waiting to hear from you.
July Florida Prayer Bless this house, oh Lord we cry, cool in mid-July.
Please keep it
Bless the walls where termites dine, And ants and roaches march in time. Bless our yard where spiders pass, Fire ant castles in the grass. Bless the garage, a home to please, Carpenter beetles, ticks and fleas. Bless the love bugs, two by two, The gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you. Millions of creatures that fly or crawl, In Florida, Lord, you've put them all!
Florida Poem F L O R I D A
is for having fun in the sun is for laughing a lot is for going outside a lot is for when it rains is for the most important places you can go is for having dinner at great places is for alligators that swim in the ponds
Just a reminder that all jobs serviced in the community is the responsibility of each resident and does not in any way reflect on the Southfork management.
