Southfork News “FOR THE RESIDENTS, BY THE RESIDENTS” Have a great month!

October 2018

Hey Snowbirds……... Welcome back to Southfork!

You’re probably just returning from places

like Michigan, Ohio, Pa, New England states and so many other interesting places and all ready to bask in the mild temperatures and ready to send beach-and-flip-flop photos to your neighbors back home shoveling snow. (smile) We missed all of you and we hope you are ready to begin your return and enjoy this beautiful Florida weather. You will see some changes, new neighbors, old neighbors gone, but all in all we are still Southfork and just waiting for you to get back. You may have noticed that restaurants — are revving up for more customers now that you’re here.

Golf courses may be a little more

crowded now as you hit the links. Doctors soon will be seeing more patients because, obviously, this is where your favorite physicians are. Now the season is ready to start with all of you back and are you ready for Florida? I sure hope so!

AGAIN--------WELCOME BACK!

SOUTHFORK WOMEN’S CLUB

Note: Meeting is on the 2nd Wednesday October 10th ----- 10 AM Our summer activities included two potluck picnics at the pavilion. The ladies brought some delicious, fantastic dishes and ( Desserts) to die for. The new management team went to great lengths to ensure our comfort. Picnic tables were cleaned, grounds were swept, they even removed a nasty wasp hive. Turning on the fans kept us cool. Thank you Tim, Megan and Penny for your extra efforts. We're kicking off our new season on Wednesday October 10 @ 10am with a brief meeting followed by a fashion show. “ Bon Worths” clothing and accessories will be modeled by members of our women's club followed by a light lunch. Sure to be accessory tips and big discounts on Bon Worths clothing.

We hope to see you there. If you have yet to join the dues are only $5 a year. The Women's Club sponsors many charitable causes and your participation helps many less fortunate adults and children in the Dade City area. Part of our fundraising is the 50/50 drawing at each meeting @ 1$ a chance. Article submitted by Gail Young

Southfork Botanical Gardens Submitted by, Kathy Gallick

Botanical Gardens? Just could be, but no! Thanks to Megan and Tim for keeping Southfork beautiful. I was invited to view foliage and was so impressed wanted to share with my neighbors. How very nice to have caring, energetic and congenial management. A breath of fresh air. Enjoy the beautiful foliage. I did.

In Memory of Joe Lehman

Joe Lehman spouse of (Janet), Mesquite Dr. passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018.. Joe was brother in law to our current residents.....Tom & Judy Geyer and Jim & Mary Freund. Joe was chief cook at our Hamburgs and Hotdogs by the pool. Janet (his wife) was his sidekick in the preparation and shopping and preparing for this weekly event on Wednesday evenings. For those who attended our monthly Pancake Breakfasts, you probably seen Joe flipping pancakes. Joe attended so many events and was very active and will be greatly missed.

Condolences to Janet and their families.

Just a reminder that all jobs serviced in the community is the responsibility of each resident and does not in any way reflect on the Southfork management.
