Thanksgiving Day brings to mind the blessings in our lives that usually go unnoticed: A home that surrounds us with comfort and protection, delicious food, for pleasure in both eating and sharing, clothes to snuggle up in, books and good entertainment to expand our minds; and freedom to worship our God. Most of all we are thankful for our family and friends, those treasured people who make our lives extra special.

SOUTHFORK CINEMA, Tuesday Nov 14th - 7:00 pm!!

Our next Tuesday Night Movie will be Nov 14th @ 7:00pm. MOVIE TO BE DETERMINED! The “CineBistro will continue serving all you can eat popcorn for 25 cents and ice cream for $.50 a bowl . (Root Beer floats available for $1.00) You are welcome to bring your own beverages. There’s plenty of seating but feel free to bring your own comfy chair! Don’t forget, we take requests!!! Something you want to see? Just let us know

“CREAM OF THE CROP”

In year 2008 we put on a show called “Recycled Teenagers” and it was a success. We raised $700.00 for the troops. Now I am ready to put on another show to be called “Cream of the Crop” and the proceeds will go to charity.

I need some men and women who would be interested in being in the show. We have a lot of new people here in Southfork and it would be nice to see them take part in the show.

You don’t have to know the text and it will be in front of you.

This show will be held on Marth 10th, 2018.

Please call me if interested and we can meet after coffee hour on a Monday morning sometime in December. At that time I will give all the info and tell you what it is all about.

HELLO SOUTHFORK , NOVEMBER 2017.

WELCOME BACK TO OUR NORTHERN FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT.

IT IS FALL IN FIORIDA BUT

THANK GOODNESS THE DAMAGE FROM THE HURRICANE WAS MINABLE AND THE PARK WAS CLEANED UP VERY QUICKLY. I THINK WE ALL LEARNED A LESSON TO BE MORE PREPAIRED FOR THE STORM. WE HAVE REPAIRED THE COMMUNITY SIGN. I KNOW THAT A LOT OF YOU MISSED IT. THE BOARD ALSO REPLACED DIRECTOR NANCY HOLLEY WHO MOVED AWAY WITH BOB LYNCH .

BOB HAS SERVED BEFORE WELCOME ABOARD. IT IS ALSO TIME TO NOMINATE OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS FOR NEXT YEAR. WE WILL ACCEPT NOMINATIONS AT THE NOVEMBER ASSOCIATION MEETING ON NOV.27TH AT 9 AM IN THE CLUB HOUSE. WE WILL NEED TO ELECT A PRESIDENT, A SECRETARY AND TWO DIRECTORS. SO THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO STEP UP AND RUN FOR AN OFFICE. ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN JANUARY AND ARE FOR TWO YEARS. LETS HAVE A BIG TURN OUT. MY DOOR IS OPEN. TOM

Association “ Nominations�

On Monday. November 27thh, the first association meeting of the fall season will be held at 9am. At this time a slate of nominees, prepared by the nomination committee will be presented and nominations for Board Members will be opened to all members in good standing of the association, at this meeting.

The terms of office are up for President & Secretary and 2 directors. Please take time to think this over and decide if you are at all interested in becoming a member of this Board. To run the Association it is necessary to have a full board which does the business functions for our Association along with Social items and events. Please consider any of these positions.

If interested to be on the ballot, please contact someone on the board and let them know you are interested before this meeting so your name can be entered on the ballot in January! Submit your name before the November meeting or have someone or yourself be nominated and be on the list of candidates running for office. Nominations are always closed at this meeting but write ins will be taken at the January meeting.

If you are someone wanting to help out, be fair and equal on everything, have an open mind, have a good listening ear , ideas, then you are a person we are looking for!!!!!

We urge you to attend this important meeting so that you too, can take part in nominating your choice of candidates. If you don’t think you can do it and know someone who can, by all means, nominate them .

Southfork Women’s Club

Our Fall schedule got off to a great start at our October meeting! Several of our wonderful ladies beautifully decorated the hall and served a very tasty luncheon after a short meeting.

Our November 1st meeting should be fun! Six brave ladies will be modeling fashions from Bon Worth. Please come to cheer them on.

We will be planning our annual Bazaar which will be held on Saturday, November 18 th and also hearing about the plans for the Annual Christmas party for our members.

If you have not joined yet, it is not too late. Annual dues are only $5.00 a year and Shirley Hood is our Treasurer. The Women’s club deposit box is on the left side of the pool entrance in the clubhouse.

Our goal is to have fun and help the needy of Dade City.

Next meeting is on Wednesday, November 1st at 9:30am Come and welcome back our friends from the North and our new residents.

BINGO CORNER NEWS

Bingo has made a change on the caller and I want to give a big thanks to Pat Grossi who has retired as our Bingo Caller for many years and he was very dependable and he did a fantastic job. Now he will sit on the side line and assist if needed.

I am very pleased to announce that I got two people who have volunteered to call Bingo and they are Jim Belesky and Phyllis Fisher.

I am sure that they will fill the shoes well.

Come and try your luck at Bingo. We have a good crowd and we have fantastic prizes and a lot of fun.

Anyone interested in joining a bowling team? Open to any and all bowlers. League signup info will follow as more info is gotten.

The date and time has to be determined yet and also the cost. There is a sign up sheet at the clubhouse if anyone is interested.

Old Christmas Cards Please save all the covers from your Christmas cards (any greeting cards) and place them in the designated box in our Library starting the 1st week of December through and including mid January.

They will be sent to a group who uses them to decorate Christmas stockings for prisoners. They used our cards from last year and distributed over 1000 stockings. They sent Southfork a very nice thank-you.

November 5tht marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. Before going to bed on Saturday night, remember to set your clocks back one hour. It is a good time to replace the batteries in your fire detectors and the batteries in your flashlights as well!

Remember to fly your flag on Veterans Day. Honor the many heroes from all the wars who died for our freedom and peace.
