DISTRAUGHT SENIOR CITIZEN
A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor’s office. “Is it true that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?” “Yes, I’m afraid so,” the doctor told her. There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, “Just how serious is my condition? This prescription is marked “NO REFILLS.”

Rider Less Horse
This was on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. What a great way to honor all that served to make this country free. There will never be enough thanks to all the men and women who served in the military. God Bless all and they are all looking down on us with a smile to know they have not been forgotten!
Over 150,000 American Flags placed with love and care by over 1000 volunteers.

Memorial Day Florida National Cemetery! Had the pleasure of joining a few Southfork Residents for this wonderful occasion. Beginning with Flyover, Ye Mystic Air Krewe, Presenting of the Colors. Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Anthem, Rider Less Horse, boots in reverse, many more speakers, Rifle Salute, and of course taps. Proud to be an American. So many servicemen there representing our country. God Bless America.
“You know you are from Southfork when”
If you are on the internet in FACEBOOK, please look us up on the above title and “like” us so that you can be added and receive notifications when anything is placed there. This is a social website in a closed group so that only Southfork Residents can interact and this is a place where we can relay messages and also communicate with our snowbirds during the summer months. Snowbirds can find out what we are doing locally and we can find out where they are and what great sites and great “weather” they are enjoying. I will continue to send out the emails when someone passes away or if there is anything exciting going on here in Southfork. If you want to be in the email group and receive special Southfork updates, send me a message on pkaygrossi@aim.com and I will place you on this mailing list. Thanks, Phyllis

If you are involved with any activity held at the clubhouse or outdoor activity around Southfork, be sure to take pictures and submit any info via email to pkaygrossi@aim.com by the 15th of each month for the monthly newsletter. We have Kathy Gallick and Jean Deiss who submit something each month and so much appreciated and they keep us in the loop of goings on. All look forward to their input and thanks to both of them for all that they do to help keep everyone informed of the latest.
Starting July 10th there will be a container in the clubhouse for all donations. Ending date will be August 8th. The Women’s Club will purchase the backpacks again this year. Our Donations will go to Lacoochee Elementary School.
Thank You for your support, Charity Committee

Several Southfork residents enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Freezer in Homasassa. Yes, we followed Pete, otherwise, we would still be looking for it, but we all made it with no problem. So nice to socialize with some of the nicest people I know. Looking forward to next choice, woops, just might be the Moose in Zephryhills.
