Welcome to Florida; it greets you with hot humid air although it seems unpleasant at first, it eventually becomes quite fair. I know you'll enjoy our flat lands and oceans oh quite blue , you'll walk along our golden sands your life becomes anew. Because here in Florida, you're off to a fresh start, since you're well acquainted, you may never want to depart. "We live where you vacation" A line known all too well , Because here in Florida, let's face it, we can have some fun year round!
So far this summer season we have not been threatened by any hurricane’s. We are blessed to be living in such a protected area away from all the high waters and the coastal areas that do get hit the most. We have had our occasions of hard rain with thunder and lightning from tropical storm’s.. Please heed warnings you are given by the media on radio or television. Everyone who lives here in Florida knows that we are the lightning capital of the USA. So if you are in the pool area and it looks like rain or you hear the thunder, we are advising you to get out of the pool area immediately. Also, tell your visitors or family about this situation. The pool area was struck by lightning just a few years back, so please be cautious. Better to be safe then sorry!!!!!!!!

Hello Southfork,
Welcome to summer. Just be careful when you are out and about. It has been so very hot……Leave the outside work to the younger people that are used to it. We just got back from a beach wedding in Charleston, S.C. We saw 104 degrees on Friday, but on the day of the wedding (Saturday) it was cloudy and only 90 degrees. We had a great 4th of July. We cooked steaks on the grills and served about 50 people with a full meal including desserts. I hope this can be a yearly event. It is too bad more people don’t turn out for these great events. We really do have a good time and it is a great way to get involved. Thanks to all that helped. On Monday, August 15th at 9am, just after Monday morning coffee, the Florida Hospital Wellness Center in association with the Silver Sneakers program will be present to give us insight on their program. There might even be some exercises involved. Please circle this date and plan to attend. Thanks to Ron White for setting this up. We will have movie night on August 9th……..We will have a band on August 27th and tickets will be selling for $7.00each. Let’s have a great turnout. My door is always open, Tom

On July 6th, 17 ladies attended the breakfast at Sunrise Eatery, good times where had by all! On Wednesday August 3rd at 11:00 we will be going to for Brunch! Hope to see you there. Please sign up at the Club house. I need a headcount for reservations. Also, this summer the Women’s Club has donated to Habitat, the K-9 Dog Unit in Dade City and Back Packs for Dade City Schools along with school supplies. Last, but not least, we are asking for donations of School Supplies going to the Dade City Schools. Please Drop-off your items in the container located in the Clubhouse. Have a Great Summer! To present an evening of Bluegrass, Country and Gospel concert music for our entertainment. They are a local group out of Zephyrhills and Johnson’s Music Inc. We had a Country group in last season and it went very well. RUSTIC ROAD CROSSING is a three piece band, vocals and strings. Lauren Harvey is the lady vocalist and bass player. Deadline yearly to submit is November 25th and the new directories are available usually by February/March. Monday Morning Coffee Hour
Each week on Monday mornings all year from 8am to 9am there is always coffee brewing which is free and we do have donuts for those who are a little hungry and they are $.50 each. What a good way to meet some of your neighbors and start your week. The men are usually talking about the latest sport event on TV and the women are always talking about the latest happenings in the community. No agenda or speakers, just a chance for our community to come together. Bring your smile and wit and we’ll furnish your coffee. We would love to get to know all of our new neighbors and the others who have been in hibernation lately. Come join us!!!!
AUGUST 15TH after Monday morning coffee, 9am Creation Health Wellness Center will put on a program about the Silver Sneakers program Please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board at the clubhouse. Keymo Pearson, personal training supervisor for Creative Health will be bringing some light weight equipment and needs to know how many will be in attendance. Health Seminars/Creation Wellness Center I believe many Southfork residents have enjoyed the various Heath Seminars provided at the Clubhouse. I for one have enjoyed all and feel as if I have learned many helpful facts. I believe they will resume in the fall. At one of our first meetings, Casio, a representative from The Wellness Center gave a very interesting talk about the Center. Being a "Curves" client I never thought much more about it. Guess what, no more Curves in our area. Oh dear, what do I do now, but, as in life, one door closes and another opens. A neighbor introduced me to Creation, thanks Ron White, although there are many skilled directors at the Center itself. Most insurances accepted, Silver Sneakers for one, and even if a slight charge is incurred, well worth it. After you Become enrolled, you will have an orientation hour, explaining machines, etc. I am not promoting The Wellness Center, I am promoting good health. Sometimes difficult to get those morning walks together, too hot, too cold, too muggy, too rainy, I for one like to get in the car and go someplace. You will find me at the Center most days, and if I don't feel like going, I don't. Work at your own pace. Cardio is great to get that heart rate up, pleasant surroundings, clean and socially pleasant. Open daily, and weekends. Even offer a client appreciate day. That was fun. Appears intimidating, NOT. Various classes offered, sitting down if you will. How considerate of them. Take a look, if you need a ride call me, but I am an a.m. Person. Whatever choices you make, good health and exercise should be in the mix.
