Hello Southfork, We had a very good welcome back B.B.Q. dinner for all people in the park.

Thanks to all that helped and to Bahr’s Propane for furnishing the meat and cooking it on site.

It is the holiday season and we are having a decorating party in the clubhouse on Dec 4th at 3pm. Please plan to attend. Please see enclosed in this newsletter a separate page on this.

The Golf Cart parade will be in Dec 22nd at 6pm. Hot Chocolate and Cookies afterwards at the Pavilion, weather permitting.

A Christmas Potluck will be held on the 25th at 4pm. Park Managers will provide the turkey and the ham. Sign up to bring your favorite dish.

New Year’s Eve party will feature the music of Sam Kisner, so come and dance the old year away. We will have a Buffet so you can enjoy the night. Bring your favorite person and your favorite beverage. The cost is $15.00 per person.

SOUTHFORK ANNUAL ASSOCIATION MEETING The January meeting has been designated by our by-laws to be the first meeting of the fiscal year with any elections/changes needed and to be voted on. Pleased plan to attend and learn what’s happening in Southfork!

The meeting will be held in the clubhouse on January 25th, 2016 @ 9am sharp.

It’s your neighborhood too! With our combined efforts we can make our community a better social environment with better communication to everyone.

We need everyone’s support to help and vote on issues that are important to our community.

You the homeowners must have your yearly dues paid by January 10th in order to vote on any issues.

The annual dues is $20.00 per household and only one vote per household.

Payment should be submitted to Secretary, Peggy Elkins, 11044 Ewing Dr or place in the suggestion box in the lobby of the clubhouse.

We will be looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

John Timpanelli is legendary in our area. He may be a solo act, or he may bring a troupe of singers. We have enjoyed his style of entertainment in past years.

As in the past, this show will sell-out. Doors will open at 6:15pm.

Women’s Club

On November 4th 35 ladies met in the Clubhouse for their monthly meeting.

After the Pledge to the Flag our speaker Mr. R. Regatto of the Sheriff Dept spoke to us for more than 1 hour and he was so interesting, gave us some pointers how to defend Ourselves in case of being attack in parking lots and other places. There was an exchange of questions and answers and again very informative.

We will have him again and you cannot have too much information on how to protect yourselves, your house, your pet etc. We gave him $100.00 for the Project that they have for the buying of K-9 Protective vests.

We had our regular meeting with reports from the committees and we talked about the Bazaar and we are ready. Everyone knows what to do. Please bake for us, we need bake goods and bring them around 7:00 am on the 21st. The set-up is on Friday the 20th.

This bazaar is the backbone of our Committee and this is how we can give donation to Charities.

Then we talked about our next meeting on Dec. 2nd when we will have our Christmas Party. Your 2015 dues have to be paid in order to attend. This is being paid for by the Women’s group which your dues are a part of and no fee attached to the members. If you would like to be in the Christmas exchange game you should bring a gift (optional) of $10.00. This should be a fun Christmas Party.

Kathy Gallick mentioned that Line Dancing will be postponed until January 4th.

Nancy McCallan mentioned that bridge is starting now, every Wednesday at 1:00 pm.

We celebrated all the birthdays of November including the summer birthdays of all snowbird members. A special thanks to Betty Butler of Maverick Dr. who worked very hard to get our speaker.

We closed the meeting at 11.30am.

After spending a pleasant morning at the pool with "The Southfork Aqua chatters, that would be the gals that enjoy our beautiful pool daily, uuuummmmhhhh, and why were two fire trucks and two rescue vehicles summoned to Southfork?? Uuuummmmhhhh, ok that would be a story for another day!

Teehee As I approached Wilds Road, a vision appeared. I experienced a pleasant, smiling, and very handsome man approaching me, suspenders in place. My very first thought was, "You've made my day." Marvin and Mary Jo are back in Southfork. All is well.

Marvin and Mary Jo Dye live at 11054 Mustang Drive, have been Southfork residents for 20 years.

Marvin's parents lived in Pasco County, after visiting they too decided to retire to Pasco, another blessing for Southfork.

Apparently they were friends with Elmer and Betty Morvatz, helping them make their decision. Mary Jo's sister resided in Bradenton. When they arrived they had full view of the fertilizer plant, not too many homes at that time.

Four children, 11 grand children and 10 Great grand children.

Marvin served on HOA board, if you like your French toast crispy, Marvin will accommodate, always working our monthly breakfasts, and Mary Jo serving coffee, juice, etc., along with both chairing our Recycle Party. Mary Jo will be happy to show you a few good moves on the shuffleboard court, and Marvin will do the same.

We have their company for about 6 months, when they leave to enjoy their beautiful farm, about 39 acres in Ohio.

I had the pleasure of viewing pictures of their home, as one would suspect, beautiful.

Tractors, suspenders and Holstein cows. As Marvin worked his farm, Mary Jo tended to children, gardening, and book work. None too easy a job.

They met at a Grange Dance, dated for a few years and married in 56. With Marvin in the service, they traveled to Germany, returning in October of 57, giving birth to their first child soon thereafter.

Two people who are willing to give of their time to make Southfork the congenial environment we all enjoy. Thank you Marvin and Mary Jo. We all thank you.

DECEMBER 2015 IN SOUTHFORK 12/6 – Hanukkah begins at sunset and ends 12/14. Happy Hanukkah!

12/7 – National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. We should never forget all the casualties and the infamous day that will go down in history! God Bless America!

12/25 – Christmas Day – Merry Christmas to all and safe traveling to those visiting family and friends during the Yule Time season!!!

12/31 – New Year's Eve – send out 2015 - welcome 2016!! Celebrate with us at the club house - great entertainment, food & friends. We hope everyone had a super 2015 and that our new year brings good health and happiness to all!

We hope you are enjoying our “Who In the 'Southfork' World Is This?” section. Thanks for your feedback and fun comments about our “babes” of mystery. Now we can reveal the names of those adorable folks from November newsletter!!! (More pics, please!) #1 – KATIE BELLNIER–born Katie Copley on November 12th in Auburn, New York and raised there. She and Ed moved to FL in 1964 and to Southfork in 2008. We all know Katie from all her volunteer work she's done in our community. If you don't know Katie, you soon will! #4 – Yep, ED BELLNIER–born on December 5th and raised in Auburn, New York. He met Katie through his brother, Paul. When Ed returned from Korea, he told Paul he should find him a sweetie and Paul said his girlfriend, Roberta (Bobbie), had three sisters. Ed met Katie and they actually married before Paul and Bobbie did!!! Way to go Ed and Katie! #2 – We know this 'wee one' as PETE LOGOYDA-born in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania June 19th. He and wife, Dixie, moved to Southfork 14 years ago and they both have been a pillar in our community ever since. Pete is a retired aircraft mechanic. #5 – You guessed this beauty! DIXIE LOGOYDA–born as Dixie Fulmer in Lowber, Pennsylvania on January 20th and raised in that area too, not far from the famous Perryopolis!  A very proper lady with a broad spectrum of talent has blessed our community (along with hubby, Pete) in so many ways. Hope you read Kathy Gallick's special feature on these two in the last issue. Great info, Kathy – great folks! #3 – Last - not least – LARRY RUFFNER-born November 12th in Mason, Illinois, raised in and around there and Effingham. He spent his time there as owner and operator of a pest control business. He had a well-known band that performed in Central IL – “Larry Dale & The Rockin' Robins” in the 1960's. (I was one of his 'groupies' in the early 60's)!

He and his family moved to FL in 1976 and he continued his pest control business and entertaining. He's made several CDs to carry on his legacy and love for music! By the way, Larry and Katie Bellnier share the same birthday – November 12th - same year!

Ironic, Katie and Larry were born on the same day and live two doors from each other now!!!!

#1 Wow Hollywood, how did you miss this one? This handsome young man was born and raised in the northeast. He has been in Southfork over 15 years.

#2 My goodness! What a beautiful mom and daughter!

Well, little one was born north Midwest and raised there too.

She moved to Southfork five years ago to escape and cold.

She’s a busy body for sure. sure!

#4 Oh my….here is another handsome Dude who probably had to fight all the young ladies off! He was born in the Midwest and brought his lovely bride to Southfork less than five years ago.

#3 This is one pretty little three year old all dressed up for the Easter Parade and everywhere to go! She was born way up north and raised there too and has called Southfork her home for more than 18 years!

#5 Another Little Princess who was born and

raised in the Midwest and she’s just as pretty today as then! This tiny little gal and her hubby moved to Southfork over 10 years and less than 15 years ago.

The women’s club had a guest speaker from the Sheriff’s Dept and it was so interesting and informing and he spoke for 1 hour.

Do you all recall the so called “meat truck” who every now then appears in our community????? Well he told us all to immediately call the non-emergency number (listed above) for the sheriff dept and they would have someone come out to check on it. Always try to get the license number to report. He stated we should never tell the person we are calling the sheriff number because they will take off. The sheriff said they would ask for license info and get the person out of our area.

Another good tip given is: never use your home address on your GPS and use another number in the area. This way if your GPS is stolen they can’t trace you to your home. An address here in Southfork that can be used and does not belong to anyone is: 10808 Tumbleweed.

Old Christmas Cards Please save all the covers from your Christmas cards (any greeting cards) and place them in the designated box in our Library up through and including mid January.

They will be sent to a group who uses them to decorate Christmas stockings for prisoners. They used our cards from last year and distributed over 1000 stockings. They sent Southfork a very nice thank-you.

ANNUAL HAND AND FOOT TOURNAMENT SATURDAY, JANUARY 23rd, 2016 AT 10:45AM. There will be cash prizes and the sign up sheet is on the bulletin board. Deadline for signing up is January 19th, 2016 for a count only. Entry fee is $7.00 per person in advance. Tables of 4 only, first come, first serve after all entry fees are received! No refunds if you do not show for the tournament.

Please check bulletin board at the Clubhouse for the sign up sheet. All entrants, please bring a finger food. Coffee will be supplied and you must bring your own drinks.

This is our 8th tournament and this year the fee is raised to help defray the cost of the coffee/creamers and all coffee setups, paper supplies used for the tournament.. $5.00 of this will be given out in prize money. You only have to bring the snacks!

Oh my gosh! You’re cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my gosh! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They’re going to STICK! Careful, CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you’re cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don’t forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt! USE THE SALT! THE SALT! The wife stared at him. “What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don’t know how to fry a couple of eggs? The husband calmly replied, “I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I’m driving” Pat and I would like to thank all the friends here at southfork who said prayers and gave us moral support this past year . It has been a tough year for pat and me and we are deeply grateful for all of the kindness we have been shown. Thanks can't can hardly be enough. We are truly grateful to live In such a caring community.

Getting together with old and new friends to sing Christmas Carols, Deck the Hall and Trim the tree. This year we will also have a “Cookie Swap” – bring one dozen cookies w/recipes and take one dozen different cookies home. We offer coffee and hot chocolate on that day, so some of those cookies may not make it home!

This is the time of year for good fellowship and peace and what a time of year to celebrate. With most of our snowbirds back, we in this community are a family and we would like for everyone to come out and be together on this great festive event!

On Christmas, usually all the family members, collect at their parents or grandparents house for a Christmas dinner. So we here in Southfork will be a replacement on this special day and all will come together to enjoy this fantastic dinner.

The Park Managers will provide Ham & Turkey. Bring a dish to share for 8-10 people and the rest of the dinner is potluck style. Remember to bring your own table service. Tea and coffee will be provided, but you may bring a different beverage if you prefer. Please sign up at the Clubhouse so we know how many Hams/Turkey have to be purchased.

Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade Tuesday , Dec 22st, 6 pm (ANOTHER SOUTHFORK TRADITION)

Come one, come all, and join with all of your friends and neighbors for our annual Christmas Golf Cart parade.

Plan to leave the clubhouse at 6pm for a tour of Christmas lights at Southfork, Blue Jay and Harmony Heights. Upon completion of the parade we will return to the pavilion for a bonfire, caroling, hot chocolate and cookies. If you don’t want to take the tour of Christmas lights, please meet us at the pavilion. Hope to see you all there, don’t forget your chairs!!!

We would like to see decorated carts but that is not a must because we want everyone to come out and enjoy the evening.. If you do not have a cart, maybe you could ride with one of your neighbors. We would like to see all of you and kick this Christmas week off with a lot of fun.

Remember, Refreshments at the Pavilion following the parade!

NEW YEAR’S EVE AT SOUTHFORK DECEMBER 31, 2015

Come join us on New Year’s Eve at the Clubhouse for an evening of good music – good food – good friends – good fun!

WHEN: Dec 31st from 8:00pm until ?? (as long as all can stay awake).

MUSIC: Featuring “Sam Kistner”. . . .who returns to party away the year end. His vocals and music style always entertains.

FOOD: A finger-food buffet will be served around 9:00 – 9:30pm.

There will be a little of something for everyone.

COST: $15.00 per person which includes music – food – and all the fun. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

NOTE: This is a BYOB event.

Saturdays @9am @ Clubhouse We now are a new group which will focus on healthy living which includes healthy eating and appropriate exercise for your physical ability.

Fee to join is $5.00 per year. There will be an optional 50/50 weekly and the best loss of weight for the week will be the winner. We will also have a “gainer fee” and that means if you gain any weight for the week you must pay a quarter.

No other money is needed!!!

We already have a small group started and we are inviting all who may be interested to come and join us. I hope all interested people will come to find out what we are all about.

Part of the agenda weekly is a walk around the clubhouse (optional/if you’re not able) (starting at back door/returning to back door) to get us started and getting used to some sort of exercise. Nutritional programs will be the agenda weekly and we hope you will bring some ideas with you to help out the group.

This will be a new challenge here in the community and nothing commercial about it with everyone getting healthy and stronger because of better eating habits. This is also open to all outsiders and communities here in the area. So if you know of anyone outside the park who would be interested, let them know to come to this class.

Southfork Ambulance Service Program Annual Membership Meeting December 11,2015 A 10:00am, Clubhouse New and Renewal memberships here.

Definition: The “Ambulance Service Program” is a fee paid (annually) membership organization. Purpose, to assist members paying “Pasco County Emergency Rescue Squad” fees. Pasco County EMT/911 Ambulance services now approach $700.00 per trip.

Membership: All individuals residing in Southfork are eligible. All residents need not join. All member’s rights and voting powers are equal. Any rule changes, would require membership majority vote at an annual meeting.

Dues – Fees: New membership coverage to begin (7) seven days after payment is received.

The initial new member fee is set at $15.00.

Term: A one year agreement, beginning January 1st, thru December 31st. All dues, either new or renewing are due by January 1st. There are no provisions to prorate short term dues. . All benefits expire on December 31st. Late renewals are subject to the (7) day delay, the same as a new member.

Benefit: Most hospitalization plans add a $100-$200 co-pay fee for ambulance service. Our Ambulance Service Program would pay to our user member $150.00 per usage, limited to two calls per year. Payment is restricted to an Emergency (911) call from anywhere in Pasco County. Example: Heart Failure, Stroke, Falls, Breathing Problems or any EMT determined emergency. We pay in addition to any insurance owed to you.

As of this date, we have assisted (18) members.
