______________________________________________________________________________ Do You Have Permission To Park There? A request has been made to the editor from a resident, to please inform all that the empty homes here in the summer are not to be used for others to park their extra vehicles in. Remember, you need the owner’s permission to park in their driveway.

from the Association President Dear Friends and neighbors, Here we are already into the month of April with many residents already leaving and many more ready to leave by the end of the month and heading back North. The weather channel is showing rain, snow and bad weather up North as this is written whereas we have had some pretty good temperatures already hitting 80.. Doesn’t this make you want to stay longer and think about being here year round? We hope that the good weather will return up North before all of you snowbirds get home. Either way, drive safe and come back soon. We have had a great Fall/Winter season with activities/entertainment scheduled monthly. They have been busy months and this past month of March has been extremely busy and no one should say our community is boring with nothing to do. All of this would be next to impossible without all the volunteers who make each event a success. I want to thank all who have helped in any way and words cannot express our appreciation for all your hard efforts to make this a community that we can be proud of. Life goes on here in Southfork and we will have events scheduled for each month during the summer but it won’t be the same without all of you. So again, have a great summer and hurry back! Dot Cady

Women’s Club

On Mar. 5th, a group of members of the W-Club met for their monthly meeting. The Clubhouse looked very festive decorated in green and white for St-Patrick day. Mary Bolin, Mary Clifford and Dee Martin did a wonderful job. They also got a lovely cake for the March birthdays: Mary Bolin, Pat Dicks and Donna Elders. We had a moment of silence to pray for Pat Lynch who is in Hospice. The Minutes of February and the Treasurer reports were read and approved. Mary Bolin of the Charity Committee rec'd a Thank you letter from the Lighthouse Ministries. The letter was addressed to Pastor Bolin and his Congregation and we had a good laugh. The Fashion Show brought us $699.00 this amount was given to our Charity Committee. The Quilt Committee showed us some little dresses that they made out of pillow cases. They were adorable and they will be given to St Leo Monastery and Carol Albers chaired this project. We had a speaker from the Cancer Society who mentioned that 95% of what they make goes to the cause and she also talked about "The Relay for Life" This will be downtown Dade City April 12 at noon. Mary Bolin will present them with $100.00 from our Charity Committee. On November 22nd we will have our annual Bazaar and we will need volunteers to make baskets. We also mentioned that our Bazaar is for Craft items and new items only. We also need a new Vice-President so please come forward with your interest. Please remember to pay your dues of $5.00. We are the cheapest one around. Our next meeting is on April 2nd and we will have Isabelle Wirth who is a volunteer at Day Star. Let's surprise her with lots of can goods and bring at least 3 cans or more. Marielle President

Sarah Ghetto performed at Southfork on Friday, March 16 th.

What an awesome concert was heard by a full house here in Southfork. For those of you who did not attend you missed an amazing voice from a 30yr old blind person with a voice like an angel with so many talents such as playing the piano and the violin, teaching music and graduating with a 4.0 average and she has her own recording studio.. Her mother and father were by her side and have been very instrumental in helping her. Her father, Mike, has an amazing voice and he also performed a little with Sarah. Her father also gave some of Sarah’s history since she started playing the piano at 3 and the violin at 10 years of age. She was born with a cleft palate but overcome all these obstacles to go out and perform all over the United States with many famous people. Her mother went to college with her to learn music with Braille and what an awesome job both parents accomplished. She loves Christian music and devoted to the Good Lord for being by her side through all her life and gives him thanks for allowing to entertain all. If you ever get a chance to see her, don’t miss this amazing woman.

April Entertainment Comic (Ted Holum) April 15, 7:00pm, Tickets @ $7.00 per person Ted and friend “Joe”, promise to entertain us with their version of shipboard comedy. A Midwestern Chicago native, Ted’s credits are varied, The Tonite Show, Phil Donahue Show, PBS, Jerry Seinfield, Jay Leno and Blossom Music Center.

An Ambulance Program Fund Raiser Sunday, March 2, 2014

4pm Clubhouse

Sixty Six, people bought tickets to this event and generated over $200.00 to our fund. We thank Les and Kathy Myers for chairing the dinner, and the guys for cooking. The ladies out did themselves with salads and desserts. All in all, a real swell time. Thank you one and all.

Monday Morning Coffee Hour Each week on Monday mornings from 8am to 9am there is always coffee brewing and we do have donuts for those who are a little hungry and they are $.50 each. What a good way to meet some of your neighbors and start your week. The men are usually talking about the latest sport event on TV and the women are always talking about the latest happenings in the community. No agenda or speakers, just a chance for our community to come together. Bring your smile and wit and we’ll furnish your coffee. We would love to get to know all of our new neighbors and the others who have been in hibernation lately. Come join us!!!! Picture Directory

To all who had their pictures taken for our first Photo Directory, the copy of the directory was sent to me for proofing and sent back to Life Touch and we should be getting the directories sometime in April.. There will only be the pictures in it and no addresses in the back like we thought there would be. Thanks, Phyllis Grossi _____________________________________________________________________________

Have a safe summer and hurry back…………we miss you when your gone!!!

Legend of the Lily The proudest and most beautiful flower in the Garden of Gethsemane was the white lily. The lily knew that it was special and would proudly lift its face toward anyone who entered the garden. One night, a stranger came into the garden to pray. He looked so sad and wept so bitterly that the other flowers in the garden couldn’t help but hang their heads in sorrow too. not the lily……It continued to stand straight and proud, straining to catch the best rays of the moonlight on its beautiful white face.

But

The next day, the lily was shaken by sad news. The man who had prayed so sorrowfully in the garden had been sentenced to die by crucifixion. The lily was ashamed about how it had acted and turned its head downward in its humility. Since that first Good Friday, the lily has never lifted its head in pride again. _____________________________________________________________________________________

The Pine tree Crosses

Pine trees know when it’s Easter…….. Begin watching in the tops of the trees about two weeks before Easter. Usually about the first week of April, depending on the weather and the spring growth as to when the little yellow shoots will begin to sprout and then branch off and form a cross. When Easter Sunday arrives you should be able to see the little crosses on top of the pine trees. As literally millions have seen the little crosses on top of the Pine Trees about 2 weeks before Easter…being another witness of the Amazing Grace to the human race is something to see. Pass this on to your little grandchildren and teach them that the Pine Trees know when it’s Easter!
