From the President's Desk: March activities kept most of us very busy.. ...and sure hope it was enjoyable! There are just to many volunteers to remember to mention so, THANK YOU ALL once again! !!! Someone we know is always there whenever we need him and that is Andy. Whenever you see him he is working to keep the pool in perfect order and always cheerfully ready to help when we ask him. Thank You Andy! We have had our last Association meeting until Fall, however, the officers and the board of directors will be meeting in April and May. If you would like to help during the summer months, your help will be very much appreciated. Please give me a call! Norm has given us permission to install a small fire ring down next to the pavilion. Bob Downs has installed it and there will be a hose connected to the water. We ask that if you have a fire, please use the hose to make sure the fire is out before you leave. Thanks Bob. Easter Sunrise Service On April tith,we are having our 2ndAnnual Easter Sunrise Service. Members of the SouthFork Bible Study group are participating in the service. In order to better be able to enjoy the beautiful sun rise (I hope) it will be held on the corner of Ewing and Maverick Drive (in front of the Tierney home) overlooking the retention pond, at 7am. Bring a flashlight (it is dark at 7a.m.) and also bring your lawn chairs. In case of bad weather it will be held at the club house. Watch the sign at the end of Prairie Drive for the change of place. Coffee and Donuts will be served at the clubhouse following the service. Calling Southfork Talented People! !!! As presidents of the Women's Club and the Association, Murielle Quain and I have joined efforts to put on a show (date to be decided)..if you are good at writing a skit, play any instrument, are funny with appropriate funny jokes or ideas, please contact Murielle or myself. If you have any old videos of the TV show "Hee Haw" we would love to see them. Last but not least, safe travels to our "Snowbirds" heading UP home and a wondefil summer to all! Dot Cady, President

Spring is in the air and the trees have quit dropping leaves (Thank God.) We have a problem with people being careless when they park their golf cars. We are trying to keep our community clean and well maintained, but it becomes difficult when residents hit the pool fence in spite of the curbing, Please use common sense and care when parking. Many thanks to the men who assigned and installed the can recycling box, it should work out fine, but please rinse the cans so that we do not attract flies or bees or other creatures. I would like to say that it is my pleasure to work with Dot Cady and she has done a marvelous job. I am still having a problem with people parking on the grass. Those of you who do it may one day have to recover their car from the county impound and (nuff said.) We are going to start the street repair next week, so please bear with us and do not drive on the repaired surfaces, as it will leave tire tracks on your driveways and we will m b e liable for damage. Women's Club On March 7'h we had our meeting hosted by Lois Albrecht, Claire Cox, Phyllis GroSsi and Dee Stipanovich, and they did a superb job. We chose our Secret Pals. If you were not at this meeting and would like to have a Secret Pal, we would need at least 10 people. The sheets will be available at the next meeting on April 4'h. We played a few games, and let me tell you something, we have a VERY SMART group of ladies in Southfork. We gave them a long word and in 15 minutes they had to come up with as many words as they could at each table. The results were fantastic! One table found 164 words and most of the teams found over 100 words. What a fine group. After this, on a lighter note, our Mystery Person Netta Tierney walked into the audience with 13items on her that were out of place and 2 teams found them all. Good job and what good sport Netta is. At the next meeting, we will have two new games. Please be there and enjoy yourself! Marielle, President Hot Does and Hamburgers Remember Wednesdays to be treated to food and laughter at the pool side from 4:30 to 6:OOpm. "A Wave In The Clouds" We've waited awhile, for the pain to pass and to gather our thought's of the years. We stand, side by side, and laughed at the time, the "Chile" you made brought us tears. Of the things we did in the beginning years, that brought us so many smiles. Through the times of pain you went through in darkness, you have now come into the light. We think of the loved ones who stood by and prayed, as time ran slowly and took your life. But God has a plan for one such as you, who gave so much in your strife. For the family and fiiends who stood by, we know their reward will be high. A time will come for those you held dear. Your lives will again be entwined and now, for us the cloud's roll by. We'll turn, and look at the sky. With a wave of our hands "Hello Al" and we're so glad to know you're close by. In memory of a friend "Al Bellows" Submitted by: Willie Stoever
NETTA'S NEWS I talked with lrene Lagosky and she informed me of the latest developments concerning their Bank of America Visa card. The two people who stole her purse used the card in the amount of $3,608.48. 1 was under the impression that the card holder would only be responsible for $50.00. Well, Bank of America told Pete & lrene they had to pay the whole amount. Pete & lrene said "NO WAY, we'll have our lawyer look into this and with that Bank of America backed off and let it go. As for the court date, none yet. The girl involved with theft is in jail again on other charges now. If you have been down to put your papers in the bin, you probably have noticed the can recycle bin near by. There is a can crusher there so it would be appreciated if you would crush your aluminum cans before placing then in the box. Also appreciated is cleaning the cans out first. The cost to build the container was approximately $200.00, and a big thank you goes to Marvin Dye, Bob Downs, Jack Nutter, Pete Logoyda and Carl Warschkow for making and placing the container in the RV area. Those of you who took chances on a "basket of goodies" from the Eagles, Shirley Garner has announced that Donna lvey and Dick Collier won. The Shuffleboard Tournament was very successful and thanks to all who helped set up and cooked and thanks to Citrus Chrysler for their contributions to our association. I hear a few people (10) bought cars. And the winners of the tournament were: 1'' Place-Aggie Mitchell and Phil McPheron, 2ndPlace-Mary Bolin and Tom Geyer and 3rdPlace-Shirley Tiratto and Don Duarte also another 3rdPlaceLou Doten and Bob Lynch. Congrats to all ... ... ... .. The AARP session held at the clubhouse was attended by quite a few people (25.) Another class will be held in the fall. The St Patrick's Dance held recently was attended only by 36 people. Larry Ruffner who was "MC" did a good job even though he was still hurting from the accident he was in. You can't keep a good man down. I have been asked to write about a complaint I received about barking dogs on Maverick Drive. There were visitors on that street that put their dogs on the front porch while away from the house, maybe not knowing that these dogs barked for over 2 hours while
they were out and disturbing many surrounding neighbors. Please keep the dogs in the house while you are away from home. Also, there were cars parked overnight in the street while there was plenty of room for a car in the driveway. One of the rules in SouthFork is not parking on the grass or in the street all night. I'm only reporting what I was asked to print. We all have dogs but they can be a bit pesty at times. Thank you for understanding. There sure was lots of activity here in the park for the carport sales. Cars were in here before 7:30am. What a beautiful day it was with no cold or rain. Did everyone sell all their stuff? Then later in the day at the clubhouse, the paper recycle appreciation cook out was held from 4 to 6pm. Hot Dogs and Hamburg's were served along with soda's and ice cream and cake. All of this was paid for by the paper you put down in the bin. The Noodleman show held at the clubhouse was great entertainment with a very versatile performance. 105 tickets were sold at $5.00 each and the association got to keep $1.OO for each ticket for our profit. Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to anyone celebrating in the month of April. Have a great month... ... ... ... Netta As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, "Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on Interstate 77. Please be careful!" "Heck," said Herman, "It's not just one car but it's hundreds of them!"
