The Gator Tales

The Unofficial Newsletter of Lake Hammock Village David Schnopp Editor HOME SHOW and YARD SALE….. Was a great success ~ in total LHV HOA profited over a $1,000!! We had 36 homes with yard sales and 9 vendors displayed their wares: Ron’s Gulf Carts, Bargain Carts, AMS Windows, Oakridge Funeral, National Cremation Society, Watts A/C, Falcon Travel, Graham Aluminum and Avon by Jean. All the vendors thanked LHV HOA for inviting them and thought it was time well spent. A BIG thank you to Kay Levinson for her donation of a hand made afghan for auction and to Jane Biba for selling the tickets.

A special thank you to: Al & Ruth Crocker for coffee, doughnuts and excellent sandwich platter sales in the clubhouse, Tim Stump for hot dog sales, Donna Hunt for the bake sale, Betty Rhoades & June Gratz for selling door prize tickets and passing out door prizes. Thank you to Ruth Crocker and Joan Lander for acquiring door prizes and to our vendors who donated door prizes. Thank you to Richard Spiegel for crowd control outside the gate in the morning and Thank you, Thank you to all the other ‘helpers’ not listed by name (which are just too many to list) for your time and help… it was very much appreciated. Rinse & drain beans. Add beans to 10 cups boiling water and boil for 20 to 30 minutes. Leave soaking for 1 to 2 hours, save liquid. Combine the molasses, brown sugar, onions, ketchup, mustard, baking soda and salt & pepper. Cook the bacon in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes to partially cook and remove some of the grease. Place beans, liquid, bacon and mixture into a crock-pot and bake at 325 degrees for four hours or until tender. Stir occasionally, add water as needed. We find beans taste better warmed up so you can make this the day before. Yields 8 to 10 servings. The Brewster sisters

This is an attempt to give our community a place and time where people can gather to have fun and share incredible talents. This is an extremely flexible schedule and can be modified as people begin migrating back to our community center for recreation. Please consider sharing some of your favorite games with the community by bringing them to the clubhouse. Mark Anthis, 863-242-2362

MANAGER’S NOTES We are in a very dry season. DO NOT SMOKE in the back area as it is one spark away from a fire that could take most of the park with it. If you see someone smoking, let me know and I will give him or her a written notice. A second notice will result in a request not to go to the rear area until it rains. Checks were a big problem last month. From now on, I will make deposits on the 5th and 10th of the month. The Heiler family is sorry that they had to cancel the March 18th meeting with the residents. I am sure that you all understand that family matters take precedence. They will give us a new date soon. I want to have a meeting with residents who own antique cars and motorcycles with loud mufflers that annoy other residents. The meeting will take place on April 7th at 8:30am in the Clubhouse.

SPECIAL THANKS This is a wonderful place to live. Thank you for the many cards, phone calls concerning my wife’s recent illness. Without your support and the support of the new owners, this would have been much more difficult for my wife and I to deal with. Thanks again for your visits to my home and the hospital. David & Joanne Johnson
