PRESIDENT’S CORNER We are going to have a fourth of July party. Hoping to see most of you there. It should be a good time and a chance for most of us to get together and enjoy the company of most of the neighbors. The food will be paid for by the community. It should be a good time for all. I am sure that you have seen that the roads are being fixed and should be much nicer when finished.

THANK YOU EVERYONE I want to thank everyone from lake Hammock Village for the wonderful cards, flowers, food and the several visits I had while in rehab. Many thanks for all who brought my husband to see me. I would also like to thank Walter Strohmaier for the many times that he stopped to see me. Many heartfelt thanks go to Al & Ruth Crocker for everything that they did for my husband, they were exceedingly great.

Hello All, We lost a great friend and loving companion today. Shadow was 16 years old. We found her at the pound in Key Largo, Florida in 1985. She grew up and traveled along side us and with our kids. She leaves behind two people who loved her dearly and her two best friends, Yeti and Yak. She also leaves her loving siblings (our kids) with wonderful memories. Here is a tribute to her. We will miss you very much!!!!!!! Here is a small tribute to Shadow and her friend, Yeti. We will carry with us the moments when they both played hard and laid securely next to each other. They were truly joined at the hip. Click on the link below and turn on your sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ONFsUtYHP0 Good Bye Ole Girl!!!!! Love, Mom and Dad

MANAGER’S NOTES Hurricane Survival Guide 10 Lessons

EDITOR’S NOTE If you have any submissions for “Gator Tales”, I would appreciate it if you would get them to me by the 20th of the month.

Lesson 1: Know your insurance policy. Many dwellings remain under insured.

DSCHNOPP2003@YAHOO.COM 863-353-1804 205 Glen Este Ct

Lesson 2: Stock up on the right things. Have enough supplies to last 5 days, officials say.

HSG continued

Lesson 3: Trim your trees BEFORE the storm hits. Before you start, check with a certified arborist.

Lesson 8: Don’t panic and learn to cope with the boredom. Planning is a great stress reducer and games can ease the tedium.

Lesson 4: Forget about that skinny forecast line. Experts urge the public to look at the bigger picture, the cone of error.

Lesson 9: Do some quick emergency repairs. Simple steps will help prevent your losses from multiplying.

Lesson 5: Gas up and protect your vehicles. Drivers should have evacuation plans for their autos too, per AAA.

Lesson 10: Don’t be a fool and you’ll live to tell the tale. Perils linger after a hurricane so stay put.

Lesson 6: Don’t flee to far. Take the shortest route to the shelter and don’t dally.

The hot tub is working. All the jets are operational. Thanks go to the owners for this.

Lesson 7: Know your workplace policies. Employees face costly choices, protect their families and risk their jobs.

Page # 6 PEANUT BUTTER PIE 1/2 CUP Peanut Butter 3 to 4 Oz Phil. Cream Cheese 1/2 Cup Milk 1 Cup Powdered Sugar 6 oz. Cool Whip 1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust Cream Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese. Add milk. Add Powdered Sugar. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour into Graham Cracker Pie Crust and freeze. I usually make the day before needed. Cut when ready to serve. I usually make one with creamy peanut butter and one with chunky peanut butter. When I’m making 2 pies, I buy the 8 oz Phil. Cream Cheese and cut it in half. Also I buy the 16 oz Cool Whip and divide it in half. DO NOT CUT THE PIE UNTIL READY TO SERVE.

JULY ACTIVITIES Let's start this month with a real BANG by joining your neighbors for an ALLPARK PICNIC on the Fourth. Then visiting Lake Eva to celebrate the grand opening of this awesome park, enjoy the happenings there which will include musical groups, vendors, and Thunder on the Ridge--the best fireworks in Polk County. Our monthly events are listed on the calendar so please participate in many. PLANNING ahead---the LHV HOA will be offering the money-saving Enjoyment book to all at a nominal fee in the fall. Last, but not least, any suggestions for events, activities, or just plain fun would be greatly appreciated.
