On October 10th, the board met to fill the position left by the resignation of Bruce Lemay from the board. Judy Dixon was appointed as interim President. Mark Anthis was appointed to replace Bruce Lemay and will serve as secretary. Donna Hunt was appointed to replace Bob Stemple.

Suddenly it's the season where there are numerous events scheduled; sometimes too many to attend in a single day. Here at L H V, we've a busy month beginning with a Wellness Seminar by Andy Tembo, P.T.at CORA on Tues. 11/3 at 10:30 a.m. for all. This should put us in good health for the ALL-PARK YARD SALE on Sat.11/7. Thanks Donna Hunt for organizing this fund raiser. VETERANS' DAY Wed. 11/11 will have us honoring our service people by raising a new flag as we gather by the flagpole at 8a.m.Elaine Blake will lead us in song. before coffee and chatter. The third Sun. 11/15 evening is movie night. Won't you join the "faithful seven" for this happening???

Margaret's back and will begin CRAFTS on Mon.11/16 at 2p.m. Wed.11/18 all are invited for a tour of the Polk Co. Historical Museum in Bartow. Sat.11/21 let's go to REatery for breakfast at 8:30a.m. We have a private room, lots of coffee, and great fellowship. The last event of this month is our traditional THANKSGIVING DINNER on Thurs.11/26 at 1p.m. Please sign-up for dish being brought and number attending. Remember table service, favorite libation and $2 for each guest. Any ideas or suggestion are always welcome. Marilyn

A U. S. Admiral was attending a naval conference that included admirals from the U. S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks, but a French admiral suddenly complained that whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’ Without hesitating, the American admiral replied, ‘Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so that you would not have to speak German.’

I pkg. Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower (all frozen) 1 can creamed chicken 1 16oz pkg. Shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup Pepperidge Farm stuffing ½ tsp. Seasoned salt (orange label)
Mix all together using only half the cheese. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
