The renovation to the existing 1966-era ten story high-rise residence hall included renovations to ensure conformity to modern code requirements for all areas. The modernization of the elevator utilizes an elevator door smoke containment system designed to increase safety and the useful life of the structure. Additional structure reinforcement for the space and the building overall were initial top priorities. The project is part of a comprehensive update to provide a competitive residential housing alternative for students while improving the visual harmony of the West End Neighborhood.
