Sharon Campbell - Board of Trustees When audiences attend a performance at Flat Rock Playhouse, they see the finished production—the music, the artistry, the scenery, and the magic that unfolds on stage. What they may not see is the extraordinary collaboration that makes each performance possible.

I joined Flat Rock Playhouse 4 years ago as a board member and have the honor of working with the team as Human Resources support.

Having the opportunity to work with the team and provide human resources support has turned me into what I call a Playhouse nerd / fan. Their passion and commitment to one another create an environment where creativity flourishes, meaningful work is accomplished, and lasting connections are formed.

I have come to believe that theater is the ultimate team sport. Every production is the result of talented individuals bringing their unique skills together in pursuit of something larger than themselves. Actors, musicians, technicians, artisans, administrators, volunteers, and support staff each play a vital role, and the success of the whole depends on the commitment of every person involved.

What makes Flat Rock Playhouse special is not only the quality of our productions but also the culture that exists behind the scenes. There is a deep understanding that excellence is not achieved individually—it is built through trust, collaboration, and a collective commitment to our mission.

PAUL VONASEK (MURRAY) is feeling very grateful to be back at the Rock with an ensemble that is a little too fun to play with. PASQUALE LACORTE (VINNIE) from the age of seven performed in a multitude of variety and musical shows, tap dancing and clowning before attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY. Afterwards he appeared with the NJ Shakespeare Festival, The L’Amore Theatre Ensemble and several regional groups and showcases in the NY metropolitan area. Later, he owned and operated Café Cappuccino - a Jazz/ comedy club/restaurant in Milburn, NJ. Absent from the stage for over thirty-five years, Pasquale got back to the joy of theatre fourteen years ago appearing in over 50 productions mostly in Western North Carolina at ACT, NCStage, HART, SART, BMCPA, Magnetic Theatre, Diane Wortham Theatre, Parkway Playhouse, Flat Rock Playhouse as well as several dinner theatre venues.Most recently he appeared in the one man show “SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE” at Players Circle theatre in Ft. PRODUCTION FOLKS LISA K. BRYANT (DIRECTOR) This year marks Lisa’s 12th season as the Artistic Director for the State Theatre of North Carolina. Beginning her FRP career as an Apprentice, Lisa has been proud to serve the theatre through the years as a student, actor, teacher, and director. Select favorite FRP performances include Sally Bowles / CABARET, Velma Von Tussle / HAIRSPRAY, May / THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY, Biancca / KISS ME KATE, and Peggy Sawyer / 42ND STREET. Favorite Directing projects include WEST SIDE STORY, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR IN CONCERT, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, AMADEUS, RENT, MY FAIR LADY, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, and so many more. Lisa is proud to have introduced the critically successful Black Box Series where she directed the hilarious GOD OF CARNAGE, and a sold out run (and all-new interpretation) of Shakespeare’s MACBETH. DENNIS C. MAULDEN (SCENIC DESIGNER) Apprenticed with the Playhouse in 1967 and continued for 11 years as Equity Stage Manager and Scenic Artist. He became Resident Scenic Designer in 1985 and joined the full-time staff in 2000. With an MFA degree from UNC-Greensboro in 1977 and membership in United Scenic Artists, New York Local #829, Maulden has designed standard and classical repertory works, experimental projects, new plays, operas, and musicals in regional, university, and New York theatres. Proud to have contributed to the theatre’s physical and aesthetic growth, artistic production quality, and strong educational development, Dennis feels particularly blessed to be a part of the Playhouse family. denniscmaulden.com ALICE BRYANT (COSTUME DESIGNER) (they/she) has been the Assistant Costume Shop Manager/Head Stitcher here at FRP for the last two and a half years and is overjoyed at the opportunity to design for the mainstage season! Alice loves to pursue all facets of theatre, so they have their BFA in Acting from Belhaven University and their MFA in Performance and Pedagogy from Texas Tech, but they also worked diligently in the costume shops at both schools. Alice is the ultimate theatre nerd, so, when they aren’t onstage, they love to be behind a sewing machine or in the wings prepping quick changes. They have worked as a designer, stitcher, dresser, cutter/draper, teacher, and actor throughout the past eleven years in theaters and schools in Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, and now North Carolina! This is Alice’s regional theatre costume design debut and they cannot wait to share the looks they have created for this colorful, kooky world with you! MONTANA KERN (LIGHTING DESIGNER) Joined the Flat Rock Playhouse team in July of this year as the Head of Lighting and Projections.

Montana is based in Greenville, SC Where he has worked as a Theater Mercenary for over 12 years. He designs regularly for theaters in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia & Kentucky. Why not Tennessee?

He asks himself the same thing. Notable recent credits include KING JAMES at the Warehouse Theatre in Greenville, GYPSY at Tryon Fine Arts Center, and AANIKA’S ELEPHANTS at the New Victory Theater on Broadway, Which he hopes will impress you. A special shout out to my lovely wife Bethany, ever the inspiration and always there to steady my ladder.

KURT DAVIS (SOUND DESIGNER) is thrilled to return to Flat Rock Playhouse for his fifth season as Head of Sound. Kurt graduated from The University of Mississippi in 2015, receiving a B.F.A. in Theatrical Design & Production emphasizing in Sound Design. Since then, he has worked in multiple performing arts venues across the country, including Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC, New Stage Theatre in his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, and The Warehouse

Theatre in Greenville, South Carolina. Favorite designs include BEAUTIFUL, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, and MACBETH at Flat Rock Playhouse, also THE LEHMAN TRILOGY, JANE ANGER, and HEROES OF THE FOURTH TURNING at The Warehouse Theatre. He sends all his love to Maggie and the pets.

MATTHEW OLIVER (HAIR AND MAKEUP DESIGNER) is a graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University, with a BA in theatre with a second major in Art History. He also holds a cosmetology license from Paul Mitchell. He has designed and ran shows all over the country. His favorite shows include: YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (MTW), WHITE CHRISTMAS (San Diego and Tuacahn), MARY POPPINS (1st national and Tuacahn), WICKED (Broadway), ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER’S WIZARD OF OZ (Pantages), BEAUTIFUL (Tuacahn), 42ND STREET (MTW), and HONKY TONK ANGELS (Artistry), just to name a few. He received the Broadway Regional award for best wig design, for his work on RAGTIME at the MacHaydn theatre. Special thanks to the incredible Flat Rock team, his mom and dad, and of course his idol, Audrey Hepburn. “We live to fight the inevitable, but only with a gracious heart and love do we win.”-Audrey Hepburn THOMAS WILLSON (TECHNICAL DIRECTOR) graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia with a BFA Production and Design degree. Before joining Flat Rock Playhouse, Thomas served as the Head Carpenter for the National Tours of HAIRSPRAY, MEAN GIRLS and FUNNY GIRL. Special thanks to his Parents and Emily for their constant support.

LAURA LEDIN (SCENIC CHARGE ARTIST / ASSISTANT DESIGNER) holds an MFA in Scenic Design from Illinois State University, where she designed and led numerous productions while managing the Paint Shop and teaching courses in scenic design and painting. Before joining FRP she worked as a Scenic Artist with Broadway Sacramento and the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Past scenic design credits include Prom: The Musical, Medea, and FRP’s upcoming production of Rumpelstiltskin: A Folk Musical Spin. She is thrilled to be helping create theatre here on the Rock and wants to give a special shoutout to the production team for all their hard work.

GIDEON ROWLAND (PROPS MANAGER) lived in North Carolina for many years before working in Connecticut with Goodspeed Musicals.

He is thrilled to return to his home state and work at such a beautiful theatre with kind and creative people. He is a graduate of the University of Evansville and has been participating in theatre in various ways for nearly two decades. Enjoy the show!

BILL MUÑOZ (PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER) 37 years as a proud Union Member of Actor’s Equity Association. This season will be Bill’s 35th at Flat Rock Playhouse! Starting out as an apprentice in 1985, through subsequent years, he went from Scenic Carpenter to Actor to Stage Manager to Fight Choreographer to year-round staff as Production Manager. Although now he “stepped down” to only be hired seasonally, he always looks forward to return to this special community at the “Rock.” Special thanks to those who support live theatre and make the arts an important contribution to society. Much love to his wife and daughter, the two most important people of his life.

AMELIA DRISCOLL* (ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER) is excited to be back at Flat Rock Playhouse for another wonderful season! Amelia started working at the former FRP downtown Hendersonville location in 2015. Since then, she’s worked as an Assistant Stage Manager and Production Stage Manager at the FRP downtown space, the FRP Mainstage, North Carolina Stage Company in Asheville, and at various theaters in North Carolina, South Carolina, and California. Favorite productions she’s worked on at FRP include WEST SIDE STORY, CINDERELLA, MACBETH, MAMMA MIA, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, and more. When she’s not at the theater, Amelia enjoys taking on adventures. She’s bikepacked across Florida, caved and whitewater rafted in Costa Rica, and ridden camels through the Sahara Desert. (If you’re looking for an adventure buddy, let her know after the show!) And, speaking of the show, she very much hopes you enjoy the production.

returned to Goodspeed to take over as their Technical Director where he stayed from 2009-2013. In 2013 Adam moved closer to home and joined the Flat Rock Playhouse staff where he took on the position of Technical Director, and in 2014, he moved up to be the Production Manager. Adam is happy to have found his place back in his home state of NC where he is closer to family and friends and where he and his wife, Samantha welcomed their first child Ryden to the Vagabond Family in 2018.

KENZIE CONNER (PROPS MANAGER) Kenzie is thrilled to be part of the Cats team. They hold a Master’s degree in Wig and Makeup Design from UNCSA and work as a Hair Local on national tours with IATSE Local 574. With a strong passion for character-driven design and storytelling through hair and makeup, Kenzie is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on this iconic production. Special thanks to the cast, crew, and creative team for helping bring these Jellicle cats to life.

RILEY HEWITT (ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER) has been with Flat Rock Playhouse for 15 years. He started off as a child actor, then moved on to the technical world. He has worked in almost every department: education, carpentry, electrician, stage management, and deck crew. He has worked on countless productions and hopes to continue working on them. The Rock is his home and he could not imagine being anywhere else.

DALE BROWN (CASTING DIRECTOR) This marks Dale’s third season casting for FRP and he’s enjoyed every minute of it! Why I Give

Sandy Williams I give to Flat Rock Playhouse because I care.

The Playhouse has been part of my family’s story for four generations. It all began when my future father-in-law received tickets from founder Robroy Farquhar, the beloved “vagabond” who walked Main Street inviting people to experience the magic of live theatre. Thank you, Robroy, for opening the curtain on a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Back then, performances took place under a tent. When heavy rains came, Robroy’s wife, Leona, used a broom handle to push water off the canvas while the audience listened to raindrops overhead. It was simple, charming, and absolutely magical. That’s where my love of live theatre began. Over the years, I’ve shared that love with my children and grandchildren.

Watching them experience the joy of live theatre has been one of my greatest pleasures.

Today, Flat Rock Playhouse is a world-class theatre with outstanding productions, Music on the Rock, educational programs, and an apprentice program that launches tomorrow’s artists. Many former apprentices have carried their talents to stages across the country, while others have returned to help lead the Playhouse. Whenever I attend a performance, I know I’ll see a beautifully produced show because of the people who pour their hearts into making it happen.

As a former Board member, I also know ticket sales cover only part of what it takes to produce great theatre. The dedication of the staff, volunteers, artists, and supporters has allowed the Playhouse not just to survive, but to thrive. I give because I want this tradition to continue.
