Althoughtheseasonisexpectedtobemild,winterizingyourfacilityremains crucial–especiallyinthePacificNorwesteastwardtothewesternGreatLakes andtheAlaskaPanhandle,wherebelow-normaltemperaturesarefavored.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has predicted that the United States will experience warmer-than-average temperatures in the Southwest, Gulf Coast and eastern seaboard during the winter season, due to the likely return of La Niña. However, colder-than-normal temperatures are expected in the Pacific Northwest, western Great Lakes and the Alaska Panhandle. It is important to prepare facilities for the winter season, including inspecting roofs and physical structures, testing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems, and ensuring that there are backup systems in place in case of emergencies such as power outages. It is particularly important for facilities in the Life Sciences industry, such as diagnostic laboratories and animal control facilities, to maintain proper humidity levels.
